Title: Labor/Liberal shills to invade websites
Post by freediver on Jun 24th, 2007 at 7:19pm
This is just what we need, an influx of Labor party 'plants' in the runup to the election. Note also the pro-Liberal spin - the article 'acknowledges' that the Liberals are doing the same thing, but focus almost exclusively on Labor. The newspaper article was titled 'Labor kicks off online poll blitz' but they abviously decided 'propaganda war' makes it sound more sinister.

Labor mobilises troops for propaganda war

LABOR has begun mobilising its troops for a barrage of pre-election propaganda with members encouraged to target blogs and internet news sites.

With an invocation to “support Labor and spread the word in three easy steps”, ALP national secretary Tim Gartrell has called on supporters to use their internet connections.

The Liberals are also cooking up their own internet strategies for a poll expected in November.

The 2007 election promises to see the biggest web-based campaign yet seen in Australia.

In 2004 there was a de-facto truce between the parties on using the web, with neither convinced the internet had yet reached a critical mass.

This was despite the success of the US Democrat presidential candidate Howard Dean in mobilising voters.

But the explosion of internet use is expected to transform the campaign.

During the NSW election campaign in March, Labor and the unions lampooned then Liberal leader Peter Debnam using a Village People song, In the Navy, circulated via e-mail.

This will be interesting - does it mean that they will actually be entering different political forums as stooges for either party?

I think there are already some at work.  You can always tell the Liberal plants - they repeat the Howard doctrines verbatim - but there's never any substance once they are questioned.

Actually Oceans - I think we've got one on this forum - no need to point "it" out.  Can confidently spout the Liberal doctrine - but has no idea what it means.

I often notice an article in the media about one particular parties new 'tactic' that they are launching. Then you see a few people following through on it on the forums, this one included.

Sprintcyclist would be perfect - although he is far more informed than the average liberal stooge - but he could always pretend he wasn't.

Then he would be one step ahead of you Mantra.

How much is Rudd and the boys paying at the moment? or do you just perform 'favours' for them?

Make up your mind IQ - one moment you say this:

Quote:
While I do not agree with your politics, you can post some intelligent and debatable stuff

In the next breath you are denigrating the Greens specifically after I said I voted for them - and now you are accusing me of working for the Labor Party.

Did you know that the Greens and the ALP are two different parties?

What is your purpose for coming to these forums - is it to stalk me or Oceans?  Because I'll say this again - you have nothing to offer except bitterness and vitriol.

Are you jealous of me or have I said something to hurt your feelings?

If it is none of the above - why would you waste your time following us around and hanging off every word we write - especially as you show such little interest in politics?

I said 'you can post intelligent and debatable stuff' as opposed to 'you do post intelligent and debatable stuff'

I don't denigrate the Greens because you vote for them LOL. I denigrate them because they are party  of and for the foolish.

The Greens and the ALP are a quasi-coalition ergo they deserve the same level of respect (although hypothetically, if I had one bullet left I'd choose 'sound bite Bob' over Kruddy)

Are you jealous of me or have I said something to hurt your feelings?

How long have you suffered from delusions of grandeur?
Do you have a problem with someone who disagrees with your sometimes, extremist viewpoints?

No - not at all IQ.  But I do have a problem with someone who delves into the depths of depravity and foul language (eg your comments on Cracker) to express her disagreement.  A sensible and challenging argument would be more interesting.

Perhaps you should explain that to your minion

The Greens and the ALP are a quasi-coalition

The greens will distribute preferences to both major parties and have cost Labor seats before, and power I think. They are more issue focused and are prepared to put political affiliations to one side to chieve their goals. That is one big advantage they have over parties like the National party.

True- you can't trust them  ;D. But Labor traditionally aligns with their leftist leanings...not too mention that without their preferences Labor would be far less effective in opposition

Let's just say that I prefer my politics devoid of union inspired IR policies and minus radical socialist agendas
