Title: Are the wheels falling off? Post by IQSRLOW on Mar 15th, 2008 at 7:49pm
So far there has been nothing substantial from the Labor party.
Of course their have been the platitudes to placate the ignorant who mindlessly voted such as Kyoto signing= expensive nothing Whale watching tour= expensive nothing 2010 summit= expensive nothing Swan and Garret being complete non-performers and already talk of them being replaced. There are many more... This is not boding well for the future of Australia when you consider the global markets coupled to an inept government- look at NSW |

IQSRLOW -
Not so sure on your list 1/ KYoto signing - possible cripplingly expensive with very limited upside, if any. 2/ Whale watching tour - do you mean the "sea shepard " ? ALP did not fund, but should have stopped. I bet it would nbot have happened under John Howard 3/ 2010 sunmmit - I think it is a good idea. Plenty of others that ALP have backflipped on. Plastic bag fees, carers bonuses. Shows an indecisive govt, who is run by the media and wont take the tough decision. Garrerts pointless trip to antarctic, rudd gagging all his MPs shows lack of freedom of speech. rudd could well be a controlling political animal. he will be awol when unpopular decisions are made. |

When did Rudd say there would be no plastic bag fees?
re: whaling, the Kruddmeister spent a fortune to send that ship down to take photos - the ones of the alleged mother and calf that ended up on the front page. The purported reason for this was to gather evidence. They now finally have proof that Japan is killing whales. This leaves the Kruddmeister in a difficult position as he now has to come up with some other reason to avoid actually doing anything. Maybe he is hoping the new negotiations will be successful and he can wash his hands on the issue. http://www.ozpolitic.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1168478179/208#208 |

I'm sorry, did you say "They now finally have proof that Japan is killing whales"? What do you think they were talking about when they say they kill whales for science? Pretending? They have never denied they kill whales. |
