Title: If....
Post by Oceans on Jun 8th, 2008 at 10:54pm
America is not ready for a female leader is Australia?

Julia Gillard cops a lot of flack just for being a woman.

I wonder if the criticism has a somewhat deeper meaning than a simply gender based bias...?

Some awful things are said about her and I cannot see why .

Im not fussed about Rudd anymore..he has done some good things in a very short time..but its the homegrown he struggles with.

Its likely at some point Julia may put up her hand..so will Aussies give her a go?

I probably will as she seems very sharp!

I see no reason for others not to vote for her because of her gender as the overwhelming importance of the worlds woes at the moment necessitate the best leadership and clearly women have the same potential as men in such roles.

I do believe Julia Gillard will be Australias first female Prime Minister in fact!

 ;)

I think she would be very sharp too Deathridesahorse...

Some good examples of great female leaders include of course Maggie Thatcher of Great Britaian and Helen Cklarke New Zealnad..

Of course there was also  Bhutto (is that how you spell it?)

Thatcher and Clarke get/got  criticism and not much of it is justified imo.
