Title: Big Brother - The Big Picture
Post by Revenant on Oct 9th, 2008 at 5:20pm
David Icke has been written off by some as being a crackpot and given his alleged belief in alien shape shifters being in the White House it's understandable. So it was with some caution that I sat down and watched him present his talk called "Big Brother - The Big Picture" and I found myself agreeing with a lot of what he had to say. I’d love to know what you guys think about it.

And no, he doesn't talk about aliens in this one.

BIG BROTHER - THE BIG PICTURE

So there's a movie version coming out?

David Icke, I like this guy and believe everything he says.

Especially the part about how the Queen is a reptilian shape shifter! ;D

Yeah. That's some crazy poo. But if you watch Big Brother The Big Picture he comes across as being remarkably sane.

Crazy poo? WTF?

Delusional people are often sane. Look at religious people and people who believe they have the ability to perform magic spells and stuff.

There is no actual proof for their beliefs, so they would be medically considered delusional disorder/delusional psychosis, yet they are remarkably sane and can function in society.

I completely agree with what you're saying. But I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts about it after you’ve watched it.

I've probably heard the argument he makes countless times. Can you give a very brief summary and we can have a discussion about it? I'm almost certain I will be up to speed on his claims.

It's a bit hectic here at the moment. I'll post a summary later.

It sounds like he has taken all the 'socially acceptable' or 'plausible' conspiracy theories and lumped them all together into a meta-conspiracy.

He basically said that the European Union is the first of four trading blocks with another three to follow. These trading blocks will be governed by one body, which will in essence be the world government, which will have its own world army.

The hierarchy will work as follows: Illuminati government, trading blocks, countries and the people down the bottom. Through out this process the general population will loose more and more freedom and eventually become micro-chipped and constantly monitored like in Orwell's 1984 story. It sounds far fetched but when you hear in context with all of his supporting "evidence" it sounds very plausible.

He drew on many examples through out his presentation to support his claims.

Bingo. I totally agree with the second paragraph you wrote in that last post Revenant.

That is totally against the guidelines of The Mgt. Captain Celine will take them down below the bottom where they will hallucinate for ever.

I'm not sure I follow you Tallowood. Has a joke gone over my head, or are you being serious?

In the words of everyone's favourite polly "please explain."

It is just a theme from Illuminatus Trilogy.

It started with the quote "The history of the world is the history of the warfare between secret societies."-Ishmael Reed

So one society was Illuminati opposed by Discordians.

Quote:
The key Discordian practice known as "Operation Mindbugger" is exemplified in the character of Markoff Chaney (a play on the mathematical random process called Markov chain). He is an anti-social dwarf who engages in subtle practical joking in a deliberate attempt to cause social confusion. One such joke involves the forging and placing of signs that are signed by "The Mgt." (leading people to believe they are from "The Management" instead of "The Midget") that contain absurdities like "Slippery when wet. Maintain 50mph.

Another one was

Quote:
the enigmatic Hagbard Celine, captain of a golden submarine. Hagbard represents the Discordians in their eternal battle against the Illuminati, the conspiratorial organization that secretly controls the world.

The book was written in 1960s decades before Foucault's Pendulum,  The Da Vinci Code and Big Brother - The Big Picture.

Wow. The Illuminatus Trilogy sounds like a good read. I'll have to check it out. Was it ever made into a movie? I reckon there'd be an audience for it.

I have all three books in .pdf format so if you want to read it I can put it on web.

That'd be cool. I like to check it out.

Revenant, what parts of the movie jumped out at you the most and what did they bring you to realise/believe?
