Title: Men better at detecting cheating partners Post by sprintcyclist on Oct 30th, 2008 at 12:35pm "WOMEN watch out. New American research has revealed that the male of the species is better at detecting a cheating partner than females. A study of heterosexual couples has found men are more suspicious about straying, but leading Australian sex researcher Sydney therapist Dr Rosie King said she believed men had heightened suspicions because they were the bigger cheaters and more aware of the temptations. Virginia Commonwealth University researchers in Richmond gave confidential questionnaires to 203 young couples, asking if they had strayed and if they suspected or knew their partner had strayed. The results, in New Scientist magazine, show 29 per cent of men admitted cheating, compared with 18.5 per cent of women. Men also picked up on 75 per cent of reported infidelities, compared with 41 per cent discovered by women." http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,24572557-23272,00.html |

Well I could see a few ways of interpreting those results.
Firstly the stats. Men who cheat 29% Women who cheat 18.5% Even in an anonymous survey, I think women would be likely to deny it, and men exaggerate it, so I think the figures are suss. I think that a lot of people that are jealous, by nature, actually drive their partners to cheat, and thereby create a self fulfilling prophecy; "If I am always being accused of it, I may as well do it!" So I think the figures may just tend to show that guys are more jealous, and insecure than women. Of course I have nothing but my personal observations to come to this conclusion, but I do know that jealousy is very destructive to relationships, and it is far better to accept that someone may, or may not, let you down, and live with that, rather than assuming they will, and poisoning your closeness and trust on the assumption that they will. Another tip for guys, don't act like a dirtbag, and your woman will be less likely to treat you like one. Unfortunately we still see a fair bit of the "Madonna or Whore" mentality from immature guys. |

Nope. Fortunately I saw how destructive it was, at an early age, and was able to see it's need to be kept in it's basket.

I think you may be thinking of a different snake helian, and that other one still hides in bushes, rather than the basket.
