Title: Is this why Islam has such strict laws for women? Post by Amadd on Nov 11th, 2008 at 6:32pm
A Melbourne teacher who allegedly urged a student to treat her like "a sex slave" has been committed to stand trial.
High school science teacher Nazira Rafei, 26, told the boy she would "stuff up" his marks if he ended their relationship, the Melbourne Magistrates' Court was told. Rafei has pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual penetration of a child under 16 whilst under her care or supervision, and four counts of an indecent act with a child.... http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=663844 |

I read the article earlier and didn't realise the woman was a Muslim. She would certainly be feeling a lot of shame - but for any woman no matter what her religion - to behave like this, she would have to have a lot of serious emotional problems.
It's amazing how often female teachers are seducing school boys lately - you wonder how they can put their future in jeopardy that way. Perhaps it's because young boys are pretty clued up sexually now and give the impression of being so much older. Still that's no excuse. |

It's probably no more prevalent than in the past, but nobody bothered to report it previously.

i disagree, as society openly accepts sexuality on a public level, on television and even on the street its only natural that more cases of sexual activity will occur. The same way that there is more promiscuity all round as it is generally more acceptable. |

I don't think it is natural for that to happen pender. But I would be interested if someone had made an effort to look into it properly. The age of young girls where parents get histerical if they find out they are interested in boys, is the age at which they used to get married off. IMO, our society is less accepting of sexuality in young people. This is what grants them the freedoms they never had in the past. Like the freedom to wear a skimpy bathing suit at the beach and not be pack raped.

Post by abu_rashid on Nov 12th, 2008 at 9:37am Even if this lady did commit this act, that's got nothing to do with Islam, so making a topic claiming this is why Islam believes such and such is just ridiculous. People of all different religions and backgrounds commit acts which are wrong. Since we believe people are innocent until proven guilty, this thread is closed until the trial has concluded and she is proven guilty. |
