Yes and no but mainly no. All world leaders are guilty of mass murder in some way, pinning it only on Hitler is very short sighted.

I agree with Phil on this.  There may be a few leaders that aren't, but many of them are - they just go about it differently to Hitler.  He committed genocide on his own people, although he didn't recognise them as such - but then how many leaders have been guilty of that over the last century.

How many boys were sent to their death in WWI & WW2.  They believed they were fighting for their country, but they were actually fighting for a group of men who had too much to lose.  They were fighting for payback and the corporations, the way they always do in wars.  The world leaders were responsible for 90 million deaths just in these wars alone.

hence why I asked and gave an off the cuff opinion. I think the death anyone who is in charge of mass genocide is 'good riddance', so why should hitler be any different?

In hitler's defence, when he came to power, ordinary germans were starving to death, which he blamed on the jews, due to the financial market crash, so his bigotry was justifiable, in his own mind. Of course I disagree, but it does show us something other than just a mad racist.

He also had Stalin as a neighbour, the soviets, under Stalin, were a pretty scary bunch, and I could see some justification for wanting buffer zones between germany and russia.

So while none of this excuses or condones his atrocities, or validates his hideous genocidal violence, it does show that things are rarely as simple as people would try to portray them.

Except it wouldn't be 'the Allies', it would be 'the Jews' who were pulling all the strings behind the scenes. And you wouldn't be able to question the dominant interpretation of history without risking being sent off to the glue factory. There certainly wouldn't be many Jews around to offer an alternative point of view. And you wouldn't be able to question the dominant interpretation of history without risking being sent off to the glue factory. There certainly wouldn't be many Jews around to offer an alternative point of view. It kinds of puts it in perspective when certain people complain about political correctness and not being able to make racist rants without others sniggering in the background and not offering them the respect they deserve.
