I don't know if going through uncharted rapids is sport but when I do I sort of have rely on the spirit of river to guide me via the best pass.

Being someone that generally has a low competative nature, and find all but the individual type sports very boring, I hold sport in fairly low esteem compared to academic, intellectual and artistic pursuits BUT I will say that when you are IN THE ZONE it can be very close to a religious experience or epiphany. I'd swap that feeling for winning any day.

Like remembering the hunt, the stalk but not the kill.
