This is truly despicable. What kind of society promotes sexuality and immorality so much that young adolescants end up raping an 8 yo. girl? And then her parents disown her. They are originally Liberian, but Liberia is a U.S colony anyway, a country setup to send disused slaves back to. Even though it has some Muslims, I doubt it's Muslims though, since the religion wasn't mentioned, and we know it only gets mentioned in the case of Muslims. Either way whatever religion they are, it's truly disgusting.

Outcry over disowned US rape girl

Offers of help are pouring in for an eight-year-old Liberian girl disowned by her own family in Phoenix, Arizona, after being raped by four boys.

The girl is under the care of the Arizona Child Protective Service (CPS) because her parents said she had shamed them, and they did not want her back.

Phoenix police said calls had come in from all over the US offering money, or even to adopt the young girl.

The boys, Liberian immigrants aged nine to 14, have been charged with rape.

The case has sparked outrage across the US and even drawn condemnation from Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, an outspoken anti-rape campaigner.

"I think that family is wrong. They should help that child who has been traumatised," Mrs Johnson-Sirleaf told CNN.

"They too need serious counselling because clearly they are doing something, something that is no longer acceptable in our society here," she added.

Brutal attack

Media reports said the girl was lured into a shed on 16 July with promises of chewing gum by the four young boys.

There, they held her down and took turns assaulting her for 10 to 15 minutes, before her screams alerted officers nearby.

The oldest suspect, a 14-year-old boy, will be tried as an adult on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault, police said on Friday. He is being held in police custody until trial.

The other three - aged 9, 10, and 13 - are charged as juveniles with sexual assault and kidnapping.

But the police said no charges will be filed against the parents.

"They didn't abandon the child," Phoenix police sergeant Andy Hill told AFP news agency. "They committed no crime. They just didn't support the child, which led to CPS coming over there."

Sgt Hill said people from eight or nine US states had called wanting to adopt the girl or donate money.

"It has been unbelievably fantastic in terms of support for the child," he said.

Careful Abu, rape occurs often enough in Muslim countries as well.

Not all Liberians are descended from African-American slaves.

Apparently the father disowned the girl because she had 'dishonoured' the family by being raped.

As disgusting as that is, it probably originates from a tribal code and in this case has as much to do with Islam directly as albino Tanzanians being murdered for body parts (to be used by witch-doctors) has to do with Christianity.

That's an estimation, not a fact. Even those who claim rape occurs a lot in Muslim countries agree there's very little data on it... which means it's nothing but speculation. It might be high... might not be, we don't know.

I'm sure rapes do occur in Muslim countries, since most of them have imported a lot of the trashy sex-crazed self-indulgent Western lifestyle anyway, and have abandoned Islamic laws.

My point is that Western society actually glorifies this kind of stuff, even if it pays lip service to how despicable it is. It's kind of hypocritical on one hand to denounce it, whilst on the other bombarding kids heads with constant images, concepts, desires of the exact same thing. When people get famous and glorified for singing songs about rape... then don't be surprised when they're fans begin raping..

And as I stated, no matter what their religion these parents are a disgrace to humanity, even if they're Muslims. You're right it is more about tribalism, as are honour killings, doesn't stop the raving mad islamophobes from trying to blame it on Islam.

I don't believe rape would be any more common in Muslim countries than in any other society that prohibits it. But I don't believe the rapes that do occur in Muslim countries are the result of Western influence either. I believe it's a crime found in all societies that don't condone it, resulting from human psychopathology (particularly child rape) and is independent of religion.
