I think Gillard has our media well and truly covered in this country, this and eating out of her hand don't you?
We saw this throughout the campaign, (one which is seemingly on-going), whereby Tony Abbott was left fighting for airtime on a number of TV , Radio stations also. Fair shake of the sauce-bottle... Abbott gets a smidgeon of positive media attention, and now Gillards supporters jack-up about this too? Murdoch press was more pro- Gillard before the election, it was only when a NBN threatened his pay-TV pursuits did he appear to change teams half time. I think both sides of politics are guilty of accepting corporate funding, which is why I think it needs to be stopped altogether in this country. We are becoming quite fascist. |

Surely, you can't be serious!? In addition to having surplus millions to donate directly, Murdoch effectively-controls a unique national and international media platform, from which he can insidiously-exercise his propensity to peddle propaganda to influence public opinion about his preferred pollies and their foes... GetUp must purchase access to media, in order to get its message out - and Murdoch can drown that message out with dishonest diversions... |

I think you'll find that when you read the thread for the first time that I am just pointing out how hard it is to read burwood and loners posts, all I ask is that they try and make an effort to at least spell the basic words correctly, it is so hard to read a post when they continually use the wrong spelling. As for your comment, who gave you the sheriff's badge? if you want to be a mod put your hand up, until then your continuous bitching is more annoying than their constant spelling mistakes. You know this forum has worked very well without your bitching for years now, if you don't like it .............................................. |

THE controversial property career of Julia Gillard's partner, Tim Mathieson, is in serious doubt as the couple face the possibility of a fishbowl life in the Lodge in Canberra.
Senior Labor and business sources say it is unlikely Mr Mathieson will continue to act as a sales consultant with high-profile Melbourne developer and ALP benefactor Albert Dadon if Labor is victorious on Saturday. A growing consensus in Labor and government is that it would be untenable for the Prime Minister to have a partner in property development - especially one working for a developer who raises funds for Labor and is dependent on state Labor government planning approvals. __________________________________ Again, I think it's clear both sides of politics have their campaign donors, though does anyone know if Tony Abbotts immediate family work for Murdoch Press, the same way no less than one of ALP's massive developing giants both fund their political campaigns this and employ ALP's PM's relatives, de-facto or otherwise? 8-) I wonder if The Rudds will be $spending$ this New Years Eve with their campaign donors and friends the 'Dadons', the way they did last year? |

But I do take umbrage to spelling errors in thread titles - and "INDERPENDANT" makes me cringe every time I see it. |

===================== The unions do not have the same exposure that the Murdock press has on influencing results or opinions on the every day person and to the same extent....especially when its voting time. the donation of such large amounts shows what biasness and direction the murdock firm has . Unions ARE in a different class altogether ....think about it. |

Saturday, October 16, 2010 » 10:38pm News Corp boss Rupert Murdoch has been questioned by shareholders about a series of large donations made to right-wing organisations. Normally a tightly controlled and sober affair, the News AGM was diverted by questions about million-dollar donations to the Chamber of Commerce and Republican Governors Association. The American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organisations representative Laura Shaffer Campos politely but pointedly wanted to know why the donations had been made. Mr Murdoch said the donations had nothing to do with the editorial opinions of the corporation. 'It has nothing to do with the editorial policies, or the journalism, or the films, or anything else,' he told the meeting. However, he did say the donations were aimed at driving changes in Washington DC. 'It is certainly in the interests of the country ... that there be a fair amount of change in Washington.' He did not elaborate on that comment. News board member Rod Eddington was also pressed on the donations. 'The board takes advice from the management team and considers it on that basis and also refers it to the company's general counsel,' Sir Rod told the meeting. Vegitable check out OP ;D ;D |
