MINING companies are planning a damaging new advertising campaign against the government. They have accused Wayne Swan of deliberately misleading them earlier this year over Labor's ill-fated resource super-profits tax. The miners have moved to a war footing in the belief that the Treasurer and Julia Gillard are reneging on a written agreement about the mineral resources rent tax, which replaced the RSPT days after Kevin Rudd's removal as prime minister. Mining giants BHP Billiton, Xstrata and Rio Tinto are convinced Labor is preparing to double-cross them a second time by refusing to honour an agreement to offset "all" state royalties as part of the new minerals tax. |

Well “double-crossing/betrayal” is kinda par for the course where Labor and this Gillard mob are concerned.

Title: Re: Mining Tax - Swan lied before election Post by vegitamite on Dec 19th, 2010 at 9:36am Sadly we watched A Rudd government try and for once help the Middle Australian working class. Take some of the pressure off $$$ wise. It backfired. Rudd didnt get the support of the people. ' Let the mining gaints reap their super profits. Let the Banks also. Why will ANY Party now be willing to help the middle class ( or the poor infact) as the people dont really care. They prefer to whine. |

Help middle Australia? Are you serious? They were only trying to help themselves to someone else`s money, to try to pay for their own idioticly wastefull, and incompetantly implemented policies. SUPER PROFITS? WHAT, 6% iS NOT A SUPER PROFIT! If left to the left, the English language will soon become meaningless by way of the lies forced upon it. |

Does your hanging on my every word - and pre-occupation with same-sex activity - indicate you have something you want to get (or wipe) off your chest ? Perhaps you may find a "friend with benefits" in del_has_returned - or are you already there ? |
Title: Re: Mining Tax - Swan lied before election Post by laborfornever on Dec 19th, 2010 at 12:29pm
why all the bother with mineral taxes etc, just bring in a new tax scale for bussiness,
say 50% of profit above 3 billion for every company, bugger I have no qualms in every company that earnt ridiculous profits to be taxed at 80% above a certain limit, say 5 billion+ 80% tax that way banks would not have an incentive to make more than the top tax scale as it will go to the ATO instead of share holders pockets. And yes swann and co are deceptive dogs anyone who believes a word they say are fools. |

Why does Gillard and Swan have so many issues with honesty?
Ultimatley her and Swan told them what they wanted to hear so they could run to the election without worrying about the miners. Why cant she and Swan just debate the facts, not just tell people what they want to hear then flip on them after the election. It appears we are seeing the "Real Julia". If you want to see a mining tax, thats fine but you shouldnt be getting it via deception. |
