We know the carbon tax is mute. Do we really need to debate the loons or should we just remember why we are angry and why hell will freeze over before it is implemented without a mandate.
Juliar and the labor party lied to us to get elected. Lest we forget. |
Title: Re: Lest we forget Post by Sprintcyclist on Mar 12th, 2011 at 11:55am thanks kanga. I remember rudd saying "An ets (or carbon tax, same difference)" then judas and co making him change his mind. them him getting booted due to falling support publically. Now judas is saying "carbon tax" AND she has the lowest ever rating. and i remember her saying she'ld never take over rudds job. |

I think you will find Tony Abbott wont be either. I expect he'll be rolled within the next 2 months by Turnbull or Hockey, both moderates, thats a good thing for this country. |

She will regardless of whether she can tell us logically how the revenue from this tax is going to be spent. Only a few rabid righties want to go the expense and trouble of another election so soon. Besides - the legislation won't be passed in the Senate unless the tax is going to be delegated wisely. If the Coalition want a chance to run the country - they have to give Abbott the shove. Turnbull would be a good alternative. |

Turnbull sounds more and more like a PM everyday.
He's the most articulate out of the lot of them from either sides front bench. |

You guys can dream about getting a lefty like Turnbull in as PM but it isnt going to happen. Just because you like to use your lefty slider and call Turnbull a moderate, does not make it so. BTW have you guessed who I am yet Skip. I see it is killing you. |

Abbott isn't a very good leader, but he maybe the best of what is presently there. Turnbull would be the ALPs best asset, an inside moll as well. The Prime Ministership and government is ripe for the plucking if the Liberals could get their act together. |

Most of you underestimate Abbott.

I sense that you're right. Perhaps we were just too comfortable with the confident charismatic Costello. |

The only way to make Abbot look good is to compare him with gutter trash like Rudd, Gillard, Swan etc.

Tony Abbot is already looking good against the current PM, either of them, Juliar or Brown. Unsure which is the current PM. |

Disagree with you there mavis. Anyway, it's not how he looks, its how he leads. I have it on good authority that the Coalition is pretty well united behind him and has a great deal respect for his qualities, I was also told that the "tensions in the party" stories are a media beatup, though, as it was said, " we do have some pretty robust debates in the party room and sometimes we need to rein him in a bit , but he's doing a damned good job. Thanks for the heads up but I like the definition of mute concerning the carbon tax and the way it was put to the people. Moot would suggest there was a discussion before announcement. |
