An Adelaide aviation company has been fined $24,000 and ordered to pay $8,000 in compensation to a teenage employee who had parts of his fingers cut off in an accident in 2008.   :(  

SafeWork SA says the apprentice employee was 19 when he was hurt while he working with a guillotine to cut stainless steel.

It says there was insufficient instruction given to the apprentice about using the machine and there were no written instructions available.  :(  

The company, Cobham Aviation Services, had its penalty reduced because it entered an early guilty plea.

We all know that a fine or two can work wonders.    :)
