A SINGER has been arrested by UK police for performing the 70s chart hit Kung Fu Fighting as two Chinese tourists walked past.

Simon Ledger was singing at the Driftwood Beach Bar in Sandown, Isle of Wight, on Sunday when he launched into the disco classic, The Isle of Wight Gazette reported.

A Chinese mother and son were reportedly walking past at the same time and took offense.

"I don't even know who the pair are," Ledger said.

"It is all quite amazing how an evening of performing on the beach can end you up in a (prison) cell.

"The police phoned me when I was in a Chinese restaurant that night. They arranged to meet me and I was arrested.

"I thought it was a joke but they were serious. They seemed pretty amazed but said the law is the law and it was their duty. It's political correctness gone potty (mad).

"There are plenty of Welsh people at our shows - does it mean I can't play any Tom Jones?" Ledger, 34, said.

Bar owner Sean Ware said the song is not racist.

"The song is in no way racist and nor is Simon. There is no way he would abuse anyone," Ware said.

Police said a 32-year-old man of Chinese origin claimed he was subjected to racial abuse.

Ledger will be interviewed by police

It's very sad that the UK, and the entire western world has been so crippled by the curse of political correctness.

I support political correctness ... this is not political correctness. It is illogical. The song's lyrics praise rather than offend.

Only thing I can think of is maybe the singer was using other lyrics or where pulling faces at the time.

I suppose you do need a crutch to air your racism and bigotry

AND to avoid discussion and exposure of WHAT is really causing problems in the slave based western CORPOCRACIES
