Title: Great job winning hearts & minds
Post by abu_rashid on Jun 13th, 2011 at 9:52pm
This is definitely a good way to win the hearts & minds of the people, just go around abducting, imprisoning and torturing random civilians, knowing that about 10% of them might be enemy combatants. Nevermind about the other 90% who will then turn into enemy combatants after suffering such horrific treatment.

This is what Australian soldiers are dying [almost twice weekly now] for? For a war that is not only unwinnable, but which the U.S has obviously taken no logical measures to even try and win? Guess you must all be proud.

90% seized 'Taliban' civilians: US report

Following the release of figures intended to portray an American success in Afghanistan, a US military report shows that almost 90 percent of Afghans "captured" as Taliban militants were actually civilians.

Back in December 2010, US commander General David Petraeus claimed that during the previous six months a total of 4,100 Taliban rank and file had been captured and 2,000 had been killed, only to be revealed that nearly 90 percent of those captured had been civilians, Inter Press Service reported.

Another set of misleading figures that was circulated claimed that US Special Operations Forces had captured 1,355 rank and file Taliban militants, killed 1,031, while having killed or captured 365 middle or high-ranking Taliban members through May and July of the same year.

The figures were released for media publicity and intended to reverse the US reputation over its losses in war-torn Afghanistan.

The report indicates that even more detainees were released from the US detention facility at Bagram airbase, also known as the Detention Facility in Parwan, after their files were reviewed by a panel of military officers.

Although the number of Taliban deaths claimed by the US is impossible to double check, the number of detainees can be monitored, as detainees can only be held in a Forward Operating Base for 14 days before being released or sent to long-term detention.

The death toll of the US-led forces in 2010 stood at 711, making the year the deadliest on record for foreign forces in Afghanistan since the start of the US-led invasion in 2001.

NATO has admitted that the power of militants in Afghanistan is on the rise despite the presence of nearly 150,000 US-led forces in the war-ravaged country.

Duh, Abu.

Abu,

As you very well know, if a moslem isn't a Jihadist, he isn't a moslem.

"To the Hypocrites give the glad tidings that there is for them (but) a grievous penalty;-
Yea, to those who take for friends unbelievers rather than believers: is it honour they seek among them? Nay,- all honour is with Allah.
Already has He sent you Word in the Book, that when ye hear the signs of Allah held in defiance and ridicule, ye are not to sit with them unless they turn to a different theme: if ye did, ye would be like them. For Allah will collect the hypocrites and those who defy faith - all in Hell:-"
Koran4.138-140
i.e. 'Allah' is talking of 'Hypocrites' and of those inconsistent, or 'fair weather', moslems.
Insincere moslems are 'hypocrites',  i.e. not moslems.

"(These are) the ones who wait and watch about you: if ye do gain a victory from Allah, they say: "Were we not with you?"- but if the unbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): "Did we not gain an advantage over you, and did we not guard you from the believers?" but Allah will judge betwixt you on the Day of Judgment. And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers."
Koran4.141
i.e. Insincere moslems are 'hypocrites', they are unwilling to fight for Allah's cause, and are playing a 'double' game.
But Allah knows those who are, the insincere moslems, the 'hypocrites'.

"O Prophet! strive hard against...the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell...
They swear by Allah that they said nothing (evil), but indeed they uttered blasphemy, and they did it after accepting Islam...Allah will punish them...
Amongst them are men who made a covenant with Allah...
But when He did bestow of His bounty, they became covetous, and turned back (from their covenant), averse (from its fulfilment).
So He hath put as a consequence hypocrisy into their hearts, (to last) till the Day, whereon they shall meet Him: because they broke their covenant with Allah, and because they lied (again and again).
Know they not that Allah doth know their secret (thoughts) and their secret counsels, and that Allah knoweth well all things unseen?
...Whether thou ask for their forgiveness, or not, (their sin is unforgivable): if thou ask seventy times for their forgiveness, Allah will not forgive them: because they have rejected Allah and His Messenger: and Allah guideth not those who are perversely rebellious."
Koran 9.73-85
i.e. Allah expresses his disdain for 'hypocrites', and for those insincere, and inconsistent, or 'fair weather', moslems.

"Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods;....they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain:..."
Koran 9.111
i.e. ALL GOOD MOSLEMS, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, ARE JIHADISTS.

Allah, as always, puts his finger directly on the problem.

How can his true slaves, know which are their true compatriots [the sincere moslems], and which are the 'pretend' moslems ???

I'm not proud at all, I'm ashamed to call myself Australia (never thought I would have said that ten years ago) My Muslim friends understand that there is nothing I can do about it, so I can look them in the eye and still hold their respect.

Yes, the coalition forces take great pleasure in capturing and torturing innocent people. They can't fight the REAL enemy because they are incompetent, and it's easy to to grab a poor Afghani peasant.

The whole set up is dodgy and would be comical if not for the human carnage.

I think you mean you're ashamed of calling yourself Australian. Don't worry, the rest of us are ashamed that you are Australian. That's about 21,999,998 of us.

Abu, with regard to the death of soldiers I think you need to read the duty statement of a soldier. I think it says something about shooting and being shot at.

You should also put down the Kran and pick up the alliance that exists between Australia and the USA and read it.
