I've said this so many times I'm almost blue in the face: AS LONG AS ABBOTT IS THE OPPOSITION LEADER, WORKCHOICES WILL NEVER BE DEAD. The Puppet master Howard is still very much a factor. |

That was the reason for Howard's demise, so there goes Abbott's chances of getting elected. Better the devil you know, Abbott's a dangerous fellow.

Howard is Abbott's mentor and will be until the day he carks it - that's a given. Abbott will always do his master's bidding. Unfortunately the Reserve bank also seems to be pushing for a return to Workchoices. Workchoices did improve a little when Howard brought in the Workchoices Ombudsman (forgotten what the dept. was called), but in this unstable economic climate it's obvious that there will be a return to the original harsh Workchoices of the Howard era when the Coalition is returned. |

Yep if Abbott is elected work choices is back, that should ensure a 20 point poll turnaround when this little baby is saturated throughout the media come next election time. ;D

And yet shrewd operators like Macca insist that the Gillard changes is only really a re badged workchoices, a tweak. The fact is that the Liberals under workchoices and a series of other changes commencing with the 1996 industrial relations act moved the pendulum almost as far to the employer side as was possible. Where Macca and most other semi honest commentators are right is that while Labors changes were in the right direction they did not go very far at all, better than the Liberal position but not good overall by any stretch of the imagination. I would think that the position has gone from about 85% in the employers favour to about 65% in their favour. Claiming that it has swung right back to the other side is ridiculous - not even Macca who calls it a tweak believes that rubbish. |
Title: Re: Abbott backs Howards calls to roll back IR laws Post by Equitist on Sep 1st, 2011 at 9:53am Tony Abbott is such a childish coward, that he had to wait for the mature big guns in the Liberal Party to stand up in the media - before he was prepared to mention workplace reforms... Seriously, does anyone still think that Tony Abbott is mature enough to lead a party - much less a nation!? |

This just proves Howard and the Libs never learned their lesson. If the polls were much tighter Howard would not have said anything, but because they think they have it in the bag they are being the cunning sly arseholes we all know they are, this will backfire on Abbott, and that is a great thing.

I have always lived under the notion that 'we' have had it' to easy for to long' and that it will backfire. Abbott is the answer to that. Maybe God is really behind it- putting him there to punish or discipline us, with his Battleline foray. After all I can not believe people are so easily fooled anymore and look at the standards they phraise from , says it all really. I'm thinking I am starting to believe in a god. Because I am starting to believe there is a devil. As They both HAVE to go together. |

Don't look now morons but Abbott is in opposition.
It must be hard for you poor people, no one to support, just rehash shite to make a pathetic little point. But alas, do not despair, your government is now so far down the shitter that peace will be yours soon. RIP poor loops. |

I agree , pathetic little point s like this; http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/salvation-army-pulls-its-support-for-the-gillard-governments-controversial-poker-machine-cap/story-e6freuy9-1226126864138 Salvation Army pulls its support for the Gillard government's controversial poker machine cap "The Gillard government needs to start listening to the Salvos and stop listening to Andrew Wilkie." repeat, "The Gillard government needs to start listening to the Salvos and stop listening to Andrew Wilkie." THE Salvation Army has pulled its support for the Gillard government's controversial pokies cap, putting Labor at odds with the nation's most iconic anti-gambling group. The turnaround - which follows suggestions that clubs were prepared to bar Salvation Army collectors from their venues - will have major ramifications for the ALP. Under the deal struck to form government, Prime Minister Julia Gillard must pass the reforms or lose the confidence vote of independent Andrew Wilkie. The blow came at the hands of Louise Duff, the Salvo whose alleged verbal spray by MP Craig Thomson at a forum on the Central Coast sparked another crisis for the government. |

From all the vehement opposition to industrial reforms by any name, I can deduce that the current policies are 100% perfect.

Title: Re: Abbott backs Howards calls to roll back IR laws Post by Equitist on Sep 1st, 2011 at 12:23pm I wonder what proportion of swinging voters, who have indicated in Opinion Polls that they would support an Abbott-led Tropposition, will ultimately risk giving Tony Abbott a semblance of a 'mandate' to resurrect the purportedly "dead, buried and cremated" EmployerChoices!? |
