Female soldier reports sex assault in Afghanistan
A female Australian soldier says she was sexually assaulted while at a military base in Afghanistan last month. The soldier reported the incident, which allegedly happened in Tarin Kot, to her superior officers on Wednesday. The matter is now being investigated and Defence says it will not comment further while the investigation is underway. Defence is providing support to the soldier and says inappropriate behaviour will not be condoned. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-10-09/soldier-allegedly-sexually-assaulted-in-afghanistan/3411482 |

Whatever happened to her, she's lucky she didn't fall into Muslim hands. |

There are going to be numerous complaints in the future, especially now that females have been given carte blanche to fight in the frontlines. Why they would want to do this is difficult to understand.
There is always going to be inappropriate sexual conduct in huge institutions such as the ADF. Of course men should learn to take no for an answer, but they're working under difficult and isolated conditions and sexual advances are bound to occur from time to time. I don't know why these matters can't be settled between themselves or with whoever is in charge of their platoon (or whatever it's called), but every incident turns into a lawsuit or makes headlines in the media. They're adults not little kids and should be able to deal with sexual advances at this stage of their lives. |

British journalist, Yvonne Ridley, says she was treated respectfully when imprisoned by the Taliban for illegally entering the country. Similarly, the female Christian missionaries from the US, who were arrested by the Taliban over visa violations in 2001, have never complained of mistreatment. Compare that to the many rapes committed by Christian US soldiers in Hadithiya and Abu Ghraib prison...and we could also mention the numerous reports of prisoners sodomised in Christian-run Guantanmo. |

Yadda, I usually make it a point to ignore your crap, but I can't resist pointing out that if you have to make it clear when you've finished being sarcastic, you're probably not doing it right.
