Title: Petition to remove longweekend as moderator
Post by skippy. on Nov 2nd, 2011 at 3:26pm
I put forward a petition which I will forward to freediver to have lonweekend removed as a mod on this forum.
I am over his lies and manipulation and now it is the last staw after he has threatened to ban me and called me a liar after I mentioned in a thread Piers Akerman was a sexual assaulter. Here is my evidence I am not lying.
Akerman has had charges of sexual harassment levelled against him by employees. Five former employees, three of whom agreed to be named, said they witnessed Mr Akerman sexually harass female members of his staff.[2][3] A group of female staff at The Sunday Herald met and agreed to protect each other in the office from Akerman's advances.[2][3]

[edit] AssaultOne of the most controversial episodes in Akerman's life was his alleged threat to assault the literary editor of The Advertiser, Shirley Stott Despoja.[2][3] The dispute ended before a full bench of the Supreme Court where the newspaper appealed against Stott Despoja's successful worker's compensation claim for stress-related sickleave pay. Stott Despoja alleged: "I was physically threatened by the editor while alone with him in an office in a dispute over my work." The appeal by The Advertiser was dismissed and Stott Despoja won her $4000 claim.[2][3]

I vote yes to remove longweekend.

Why did the advertiser lose its appeal and why did the supreme court award her damages?

This has less to do with the case and much more to do with longwhine trying to silence left wing opinion, even when the facts are provided, this is all over the net, there is no way Akerman could take action.

I don't, actually...
I don't even read his columns....
But making an accusation like that is nearly as bad as Derryn Hinch's thing about naming child molesters before it's been proven in court (which is illegal btw) and on about the same level as what you complain that Friyay does, which I also don't support....

If we're voting, I vote no too (sorry, Skip).

I think the modding position is important to Longy and I wouldn't like to see him lose it, even if he is a crotchety old smelly sock.

It takes a while for a global moderator to find the middle road and L/W hasn't been doing the job that long, but he certainly needs to stop calling members' names. If he wants the standard of posting in this place to improve - he needs to lead by example.

A global moderator should practise what he preaches - or at least try to.

Sorry, Skipp but I also do not seek Longy's removal as a Mod.

As you know, I have had cause to request that he back-off and demonstrate more fairness and consistency - sans personal abuse.

However, should he not make a better effort to moderate his moderation style, then I might return to change my position.

Oh, and I don't want Skipp, or any other genuine political animals, to be driven off here eitherer!

I see FD sees fit to bury his mistake of making longwhine a mod in an aussie run forum .  ::)
He did the same with the POL animal link, I would have thought that was feedback, I suppose he doesn't like looking at his mistakes.

You are referring to the Relationships boar, where Mod & Aussie seem to be the same/sock and yes, that does seem to be one likely burial area for FD to get things out of sight.

But Longweekend pretends to be a successful person in financial terms &
offers free financial advice to people on this forum with no disclaimers.
He is so irresponsible.
He told people to buy houses 18 months ago & continued up till this day
while the whole time, property was going down & still is.

Longweekend is a loser & he gives losing advice.
I say sack him.

The objective here is opinion is it not?

Or are you expecting some magical forum of mass opinions which are always right?

I am serious - it's about time people were held to account for their stupid advice.

On some forums you must apologise if you make an error - or you are banned.

This forum doesn't have that rule but it should and any
gentleman should apologise anyway.

Why should he? This is Skippys personal campaign to remove Longy as a moderator, requiring no comment or justification of his postion from Longy.  For the record I don't support this move.

Freediver is the man who runs this site so he makes the rules
not Longweekend or the courts.
Actually Longweekend is not too bad - at least he hasn't banned me yet.
I only want him to apologise when he makes errors.
He's got too much pride to do that.  ;D

It would be awesome if EVERYONE apologised if/when they made errors.

If you choose to take advice from individuals on a chat forum, then whose fault is that?
The objective here is opinion is it not?

Or are you expecting some magical forum of mass opinions which are always right?

No - however I expect Longweekend to apologise to all his readers
for giving them wrong advice & to say sorry to any people who lost money.

Seriously, are you really over 13?  Quit while you're ahead.

Ditto.

Come on Lisa - support me not Longweekend.  :'(

Unfortunately I am unable to give you 100% support here.

The fact remains, just like everyone else, Longy's posts reflect his opinions (which are based on his personal experiences).

There is nothing at all wrong with that.

Now someone has been banned for "repeated drug references".

I am an adult.

I dont want or need a G-rated discussion forum.

I am ok with sex , drugs, politics and religious references.

this nannying is ridiculous.

For all you righties who bemoan political correctness and the thought police , this is a situation where you can express your views.

I thought I was responsible for all the drug references on here during the past 24hrs - I can remember making three of them.

Thank you.

Speaking of democracy and freedom - check this out: -

longweekend58 wrote on Nov 8th, 2011 at 7:05pm:
your point is what exactly? that the libs allow free expresison of opinion while the labor party allows no individuality at all and gets its polices from unelected union leaders?

this is why the libs have been in power far more than labor in the last century.

its called democracy. look it up.

What a shame, that certain Libs don't practice what they preach, eh!?

Longweekend is guilty of the most vile abuse possible on this forum -
that's why I was surprised that he got the moderator job.
Maybe Freediver didn't know about the abuse I suffered from him.
Thanks for providing those examples that I had forgotten about.

I don't love Longy.
