The middle eastern people have been through and raided their Christmas trees.

I chased them off just as they were about to take the last ball off my tree.

Perhaps many people on here don't believe in God or Jesus etc and for that reason they don't believe in celebrating Christmas at all either?

i believe in my ancestors and my family, i still celebrate the origins of christmas. i.e. joy, love and giving of ones self. whether or not that gels with the "christian" expectations of christmas, well, too bad, to each his own.

The unfortunate thing that Australians have to put up with is that they celebrate Christmas in summer.  The Christmas tree in that photo in the bright sunshine, under blue sky and, no doubt, in sweltering temperatures just seemed out of place.

No doubt you all give and receive Christmas cards with a picture of a snowy landscape on the front, even though most of you have probably never seen snow in real life before.

Here in Britain we're used to celebrating Christmas when it starts getting dark at 3.30pm; when it's freezing cold outside and when there really is a pretty snowy landscape.

Why do Poms try and justify the shyte hole they live in? 'dark at 3.30', 'freezing outside' and 'pretty snow'?

Give me prawns, lobster, cold ham, salad, a barbie, sunshine, kids in the pool, rellies, cold cans, flies, cicadas.

Jesus was born in a manger in a nice, warm, cosy stable, away from the snow that there may have been outside at the time.

By the way, for those Australians who don't know what snow looks like, I can show you.  When I looked out of my bedroom window this morning when I woke up I saw that it was snowing.  It was lovely and Christmasy.  The snowflakes were falling down and the field outside and the houses on the other side of it were all white (as you'd expect).

Here's a picture, from The Bolton News website, of what Bolton town centre looked like earlier today:

I suppose it depends what you're used to. I spent a year in the UK and couldn't wait to get back to the warm climate.

I must admit that the first time I saw the snow falling (heavy snow) was amazing and Christmas in Wales was a winter wonderland, but I wouldn't want to have it every year.

I wish you a lovely icy Christmas cofgod! I hope you get lots of gloves, beanies and scarves this year.
