I think he needs an attitude correction but he
always gets off in court claiming mental problems.
He certainly has no problem in identifying a weak target!

We always try to make things fairer and sometimes we succeed, but unfortunately money and power still win in the end.

You only have to look at the Court system today where in many cases the perpetrator of the crime becomes the innocent party. We can't be exactly sure of what goes on behind the scenes - but wealth certainly helps your case.

And I bet loser Matthew has spent all his money & his Daddy pays the legal bills?  ;)

Yes he is obviously ill - but don't you think that celebrities take it on board that their private lives will be exposed to the general public?

It doesn't matter to me personally whether he gets convicted or not - but anyone with such a history of violence usually ends up in gaol eventually.

the guy gets to go to a mental hospital whilst it isnt gaol I agree but he is still locked up.

as far as I know being mentally ill doesnt put anyone in gaol.. they go to an institution..

AH! Yes the depth and breadth of understanding about the complexity of mental health and it's associated problems is heart warming. So good to know most of you are still living in the 19th centry. I fear for any family member of yours that develops a mental health problem, you will want them locked away where they cannot embarrass you.

were you aware that 1 in 4 people will suffer from a mental health problem in their life. This is an amazingly common condition but some how shunned by so many. So embarrassing that uncle so and so committed suicide.

yes I think I am fully aware so I trust your comments are not meant for me... I believe in giving everyone a fair go..and if they have a mental problem well they deserve even more of a fair go.

knowing people that work with the aged and alzheimer's I am fully aware of what they put up with.. its not a bed of roses..mental illness is cruel and I dont think I have ever been one to point fingers..most doesnt lead to violence...but a lot does. especially with alzheimers.. its not our place to judge.

Yeah it's a disappointment for the public to see the product of two (seemingly) very lovely people going off the rails so often.
But then again, Bert has his own darker side which the public foregoes looking at because of the image that he brings to the screen.
And not that there's anything wrong with that. Bert is an amazing icon of Australian television. He has brought a lot of joy to a lot of people and he would be welcome aboard anyone's karma train I'm sure.

For me, Matthew Newton is a lot like Kyle Sandilands. I just can't stand the sight of him or any word that comes out of his mouth.
