Alert Board Moderator about this Post!
I see 'perceptions now' has moved a Thread from here.  Yes, it was ridiculous, yes it was inane, crass drivel.....but....perceptions, please, with respect, acquaint yourself with the Rules concerning these 'Member' Run Sub-Forums.   I am perfectly capable of determining when enough is enough.  If people do not like what is posted here, as the Rule says, stay away from here.  Next time you feel as though some action is necessary, please do me the courtesy of contacting me privately (if you can't get me as 'Mod.', you will generally always find me as 'Aussie') with your concerns.

To assist you, perceptions, this is the Rule:

Quote:
Member run boards
Do not use a member run board if you do not accept the standards applied by the moderator. While the rules outlined here apply to the entire forum, moderators of member run boards may go beyond them and be as strict, biased, vague, or whatever, as they want. Diversity of moderating style is encouraged rather than conformity to universal standards. If you have a problem with the moderation, please take it up with the moderator via PM or on their board. If you do not get a satisfactory resolution, cease using the board. Do not post complaints about moderation on the feedback board. This will result in your suspension from the feedback board and/or the member run board in question.

Now, please move that absurd Thread back here, and I'll deal with it.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Perceptions was always going to be a power freak.

Won't be long before he makes Finance and Economics compulsory reading.

Is that a formal suggestion?

To clarify, Perceptions now has been doing a very good, and very fair and even handed, job of modding, and the offending thread was not a "ONE OFF", it was just another in a long running saga of antipathy that is clearly detrimental to all involved, as well as to the forum in general, and while what Mod. says about Member Run Boards being viewed differently to the main boards, is perfectly true, in this case, because of the special circumstances which indicated a strong likelihood for the members posting to rapidly escalate their level of abuse, it was discussed by Perceptions with me, and agreed that in "THIS" case, it was necessary to remove the thread immediately, instead of waiting to see what actions the board moderator, Mod., would take.
This was in no way a reflection on Mod. in any way, and not a precedent to undermine his role as moderator of that board, but purely a response to the unusual circumstances of that particular thread, at that particular time.

How about next time, you include 'Mod.' in those discussions?

That is a fair point Mod. but like all of us, you volunteer your time to moderate, and sometimes we are not online, and so if a decision is considered necessary to be taken it falls upon those who are online at the time, to make it.
So, from me at least, I apologise if you felt the actions were intended to disrespect your role as Moderator of that board, because they were not my intentions.
I was merely hoping to see some members spared from the results of them getting too carried away and indulging in a level of abuse that could have been considered spiteful.

Good and fair moderators are much like decent cops.

Everyone claims to know one, yet I am still to come across one.

I think Perceptions, Mozzie, and Mod are all doing a fine job. Personally I'd like to see more melding of same issue threads, but apart from that I have no reservations. I very much appreciate the openness with which dissent is discussed. It makes for a very cohesive community. Perhaps we should have a thread to discuss the best ways of making their job easier by taking on some responsibility.

I thought Longweekend didn't do a half bad job.
God knows he and I have very different views on things but I thought his attempts to clean things up seemed unsupported by his fellow "leaders" and "mods".

Letting idiots like Deathhorse back just adds nothing, all it does is clog the board with the ramblings of retard.

Blackadder asks  'What vegetable makes your eyes water?'
vegie replies ' a turnip, blackadder'.
'No"  blackadder says, 'I believe you are thinking of an onion, aren't you?'
'No blackadder' Says vegie, 'Have you never been hit in the balls with a turnip?'
