If you put your mouse over 'this topic' in the message, it becomes a clickable link..

You can also click on the thread title, if it's still there...

In the following example, if you position your mouse over where the thread has been moved to, then click on that word, you will go to the new section that the thread has been shifted to, where you can then click onto the thread, which retains the same name.

It should be noted, by all, that threads which are clearly not covered by the following description, will be shifted.

Australian politicians, parties, elections and party policies.

So, it is eminently better, IF all members put threads into the correct section to start with, which would make life easier, for all.

as for putting them in the right box... well I dont know why that is the end of the world either... some of the ones that get shifted are far more interesting than the ones that stay.

At least threads are being moved to an actual forum. Over the years quite a few "inappropriate" threads have been moved to here, but when you click on here - there's nothing but a notice saying you don't have permission to go there.

Well I say it was very rude, and beneath the poster who said so, and ask them if perhaps on reflection, they may wish to retract, and apologise.
I disagree with almost everything you support, Cods, but I still think you are probably a very nice person, and I am constantly disappointed to see others I also consider as decent people, taking their arguments too far.

Life that is a totally inappropriate and unnecessary comment.

I am particularly interested in keeping the partisan and non-partisan threads separate, as people have very different interests. I find the partisan debates mostly boring and completely lacking in substance - basically people repeating whatever one-line catch phrase their favourite party or politician has come out with. Mixing these two up can be a barrier to genuine debate about political issues.

This has nothing to do with which style of debate you find more interesting and is not intended as punishment, and there is no intention that one board in particular be the 'main' board for debate. It is just intended to enable people to find the topics they are interested in.

If it says you do not have permission, it could have been moved to the recycle bin instead of deleted. In this case it should have been deleted so there is no shadow topic left behind. Or it could have been moved and then deleted - eg by the mod of the member run board. Or it could have been moved and spliced onto another topic, and the second notification deleted.

Alternatively it could have been moved to a sub forum you have been banned from. In this case you should still be able to see the board and threads, just not respond, and a mistake has been made in setting up the ban.

There is simply no excuse for my previous post.
