The federal secretaries are being paid now close to $600,000.00 per annum and are guaranteed pay rises of 50k plus, bringing some up to 800k a year.
Should the pensioners not be glad that this people do not have to live in poverty.
As the politicians are referred to as; The Hon. shouldn't the depatment heads be entitled to some royalty status.

It appears that every participant on this forum is quite happy that the department heads receive 20 times what a pensioner couple gets.
They should not live in poverty.

It's to be expected. I really think the low income earners have given up. The gap between rich and poor has widened to the extent that it's laughable. The 1% push it that little bit further and no one blinks an eye.

We are conditioned to have the 1% squash the 99% under their golden slippers.

Speak out about it and we get beaten and arrested. What can we do? It's every man for himself.

Their day of reckoning is fast approaching anyway, so we might get to see some execs jumping from high places.

Eh if they got paid less they would just accept more bribes.

Well as it is, they will accept more bribes with each passing year, irregardless of their income raises. Its become more of a habit than a need:) Actually our economy can much better better be defined by the words "the rich get richer, the poor get poorer". The fact is, our country isnt poverty stricken, because people living here are way rich then others can imagine, its just that there is an incredible income distribution imbalance:)
