Title: Israel Violates Peace Treaty Post by falah on Jun 19th, 2012 at 2:31pm
Israel has deployed tanks on its southern borders with Egypt in violation of the Camp David Accord signed by the Tel Aviv regime and Cairo.
Two Israeli tanks have been spotted moving toward the border fence on Monday. Both Egypt and Israel are obliged to keep the area demilitarized under the Camp David Accord. The Camp David Accord was signed by then Egyptian President Anwar El Sadat and then Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin on September 17, 1978, following thirteen days of secret negotiations at Camp David in Washington D.C. The deal comprises two agreements, a Framework for Peace in the Middle East, and a Framework for the Conclusion of a Peace Treaty between Egypt and Israel. The latter agreement led to the signing of the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty in 1979 which also took place in the United States. http://www.kuna.net.kw/ArticleDetails.aspx?id=2248103&Language=en |

Could the deployment of Israeli tanks on its southern border with Egypt have something to do with the recent actions of Egyptians ???

____________ http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2012/06/19/246992/syrian-gangs-receiving-israeli-arms/ Armed groups in Syria receive weapons from Israel: Reports Armed gangs in Syria have been receiving Israel-made weapons in Latakia Province near the border with Turkey (file photo) Armed gangs in Syria have been receiving Israel-made weapons found in Latakia Province near the border with Turkey, Press TV has learned. The revelation comes days after the Syrian army regained control over the northwestern Syrian village of al-Haffeh in Latakia, at the request of the local residents. Images taken from the strategic mountainous region show trenches constructed and used by the armed groups. Weapons made in Israel and imported ammunition chests were also found. Various weapons and uniforms belonging to the rebels were also confiscated by the Syrian army. The uniforms were said to be those of the Jordanian military. Locals said the armed groups burned electricity services building, sabotaged security installations, and attacked civilians, forcing them to join anti-government protests. The developments also come days after Israeli President Shimon Peres put his weight behind armed groups in Syria. Peres said in an interview with Israeli public radio in early June that he respected the armed gangs, who "expose themselves to live fire and I hope that they will win." The unrest in Syria began in March 2011. Many people, including security forces, have been killed in the turmoil. The West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of killing the protesters, but Damascus blames “outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad. US recognizes Iran's right to peaceful nuclear energy US President Barack Obama (R) and Russian President Vladimir Putin hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Los Cabos, Mexico, on June 18, 2012. The United States has recognized Iran's right to access to nuclear energy meant for peaceful purposes and says Washington is committed to a comprehensive negotiated settlement of the issue. US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin made the announcement in a joint statement issued after a meeting on Monday in Los Cabos, Mexico. "Our common goal is an all-embracing negotiated settlement based on the principles of a phased approach and reciprocity, and expect constructive negotiations with Iran via the six power talks, including the negotiating rounds in Moscow on June 18-19," the statement added. Obama and Putin also said they "look forward to constructive engagement with Iran through the P5+1 process,” noting that their common goal is to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue based on the principles of a step-by-step approach and reciprocity. Obama insisted that there was still "time and space" for a diplomatic solution to the dispute over Iran's peaceful nuclear energy program. The comments came hours after the first day of negotiations in Moscow between Iran and the P5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany). The two-day Moscow negotiations are a follow-up to the previous talks held in Iraq and Turkey. Iran and the P5+1 group held three sessions of plenary talks in Baghdad in May after an earlier round of negotiations in the Turkish city of Istanbul in mid-April. They had previously held two rounds of talks, one in Geneva in December 2010 and another in Istanbul in January 2011. The Iranian delegation is led by the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, and the P5+1 group’s delegation is headed by European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton. Israel passes law against Iran nuclear energy program despite its own nukes The Israeli regime is widely known to possess hundreds of atomic warheads, something that it has never denied under its so-called nuclear ambiguity policy. It further refuses any international inspection of its nuclear activities. Israel, which is widely known to be the sole possessor of atomic weapons in the Middle East, has introduced a legislation aimed at halting Iran's nuclear energy program. The general assembly of Israel’s Knesset endorsed a bill which levies sanctions and fines on economic transactions with the entities which have commercial ties with Iran. The Israeli lawmakers passed the bill at their first round of deliberations on the issue. During the session, Israeli-Arab legislator Mohammad Baraka lashed out at the passage of the so-called anti-nuclear Iran legislation, saying “If we are after weapons of mass destruction that threaten regional peace, such weapon is right here in Israel,” Israeli media reported Monday. “I say this, not as someone who is aware of state and military secrets [of the regime] but as a fact that has been published throughout the world,” Baraka was quoted by Israeli news outlets as saying. He further insisted that the prime objective behind raising the anti-Iran bill was to divert attention from the absence of any Israeli efforts to hold talks with Palestinians. The Arab member of the Knesset reportedly opposed the legislative scheme as irrelevant, brazen and deceitful, arguing that the law banning trade with Iran had already existed and it comes despite the knowledge that America and the West will not allow Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense chief Ehud Barak to engage in military adventurism against Iran. The Israeli regime is widely known to possess hundreds of atomic warheads, something that it has never denied under its so-called nuclear ambiguity policy. The regime further refuses any international inspection or monitoring of its nuclear activities. It has persistently declined to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Yet, the Tel Aviv regime has led an international anti-Iran campaign with unreserved backing from its chief allies in the US and Western Europe, claiming that the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program may contain a non-civilian diversion. Iran's nuclear energy program has been under close monitoring and scrutiny of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which has never provided any verifiable evidence about diversions in the program.
