Title: Newman wants more taxes
Post by adelcrow on Jul 27th, 2012 at 9:37am
Newman says he will support Queensland's disabled and their families if Gillard introduces a new tax to pay for it.
Queensland sure got what they deserved when they voted for this two faced lying moron.

Good on you Campbell - skewer the b!itch.

Where are the states supposed to come up with the additional $8 billion per year on top of existing funding?

They should redirect the speeding fine revenue to fund this...just get it done...If we had a Government with the guts for change in this country who could introduce sensible protectionist reforms, end corruption, cut wasteful spending treating cross border offenders like we owe them something...we could get this shameful state of affairs fixed.  This is a legal negligence we have to fix before the law fixes the commonwealth\ and the states.

we could abolish the states , that would leave a fortune in savings ... so much red tape triplicated for nothing ... I read somewhere once that we have more politicians on a per capita basis than any other developed country .... why is that?

Well, considering 16 years of Labor has left the state bankrupt, he's left with two choices seeing as the state also got diddled with it's cut of the GST pie from the Federals again recently.
Raise taxes or cut government spending, or both.
Some choice, and take your pick.
At least this man has the balls to deal with the issue head on instead of covering it up like the Labor maggots did for so bloody long.
The Labor party and money just don't mix.

Qld LNP are getting desperate for quality representatives in this electorate. I wonder how long this little upstart will last before she gets splattered, not from Newman though, he's unavailable for comment, as per usual.

Another Facebook tragic lol

...........................................

Rookie Gold Coast LNP MP Verity Barton's outrageous views posted online

ROOKIE Broadwater MP Verity Barton has lambasted rail passengers as "icky", called on welfare payments to be stopped for single parents and couples with children, and said Prime Minister Julia Gillard and former leader Kevin Rudd should stop breathing.
Ms Barton, third-choice LNP candidate for the Gold Coast seat, also said she did not believe in climate change, wanted WorkChoices brought back and described some voters as bogans.
Ms Barton's outrageous views have been posted on her Facebook page.
The 26-year-old beat Labor's four-term veteran Peta-Kaye Croft in the state election in March.
Ms Barton, the state's youngest female in Parliament, got the nod to contest the high-profile seat for the LNP after one candidate resigned when he was caught drink-driving and the replacement candidate was dumped after photos emerged of him taking part in a swingers' club event.
Political sources last week revealed Ms Barton's Facebook offerings, some dating to 2009 and her pre-MP days as a shop assistant and Broadwater's LNP state electorate council chair.
They included:
* Sounds like you (a friend) encounter icky QR passengers often.
* I don't even believe climate change exists.
* Welfare for parents (single or coupled) just shouldn't exist. If you fall pregnant you've got nine months to save/budget.
* Is Craig Emerson (Federal Minister for Trade) drinking? Or is he always just such a d---head?
* If certain people want to reduce carbon emissions they should discourage flatulence and breathing by certain people (Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, Penny Wong).
* Do not listen to the bogan when it says it doesn't care about politics, for it is lying to you.
Ms Barton and Premier Campbell Newman declined to comment.

Newman just wants an excuse to cover his lack of policies and ideas.
The LNP is gonna lose a lot of seats at the next election if he doesn't live up to expectations and so far all he has shown himself to be is a whinger with the decision making skills of an untrained chimp

you really are taking the aALP massacre there rather badly, arent you? he is actually doing exceptionally well especially since the ALp left a keating-sized debt to deal with. but those kind fo problems never enter the orbit of concern of labor or greens supporters. it is all about gay marriage and spending ever increasing amounts of money. and that is why labor and the greens are being flogged all around the country - with more to come.

wow it only gets better.... NOW you are trying to pretend that QLD doesnt have an enormous debt level? You do realise that these things are a matter of public record right?  You are sounding like footbru/ernie - the dimwit poster who for 3 months refused to accept that keating left a debt. I dont mind debating with opponents but it get tedious arguning with a person who simply denies facts that are on public record. I guess that in your mind, Howard had a trillion dollar debt and keating left $100B in surplus, right?

No I am not pretending anything.  You obviously have very poor reading and comprehension skills.  What I said is that getting an ex Liberal to audit an LNP money box is not an independant audit.  Is it a slow day there in SA?        So apart from Costello, who else of some independance from either side of Queensland politics determined that the Queensland finances were in such a poor state?     And I dont debate with you - I just tell you - let's get that part right OK?

Thanks for posting that. it shows just how badly QLD labor mismanaged our finances over the past ten years or so. And validates the QLD voter's punishment of bligh and her fvcktard ministers.

Which is why QLD needs the fed to fund this program through more taxes, we are taxing carbon for no real purpose, I can't see why we don't tax for the betterment of the disabled. I would be happy to wear that tax long before the eco-wank that is the carbon tax.

Costello is arguably the best treasurer in the post-war period.  he is hardly some partisan hack. the jolek that you want to pretend that QLD's finances are not in a bad state is ludicrous. Even the ALp dont dispute the levels of debt and deficit. If you want credibility dont dispute facts that are part of the public record.

LOL..Best Treasurer - you make my day.  Aa weak pussy who fled when it got tough.  And yes - Queensland is in trouble but I prefer the honest reasons in the report than a $3K a day shyster from LibHQ.  Which begs the question why did Newman get Costello to audit the State's Finances when a comprehensive report was available from his own Departments?   Sounds like a waste of many thousands of dollars to me.  Also the report does mention other reasons for the debt situation than just bad management by Labor - something Costello barely acknowledged.

I agree with you Longy, Queensland would be a much better place without roads, bridges, public schools, hospitals and what a waste all those billions spent because of the massive floods..Dirt roads, lean to's and everyone for themselves is all Queensland will ever be able to afford.

Leaving aside the debatable claim of Austrlia's best, Labor state governments were basically following the Federal Liberal economic playbook.
Privitisation, increased welfare to middle income earners and tax cuts.
Either it was best practice or wastage.
