More importantly is that the majority have noticed NO DIFFERENCE .... the 38% that think they are worse off either don't know what they are talking about, are guessing based on Abbotts predictions or are die hard liberal morons ...... surely if the sky was going to fall down it would have done so by now .....

What does that have to do with the 62% lolly? Do you really think they're waiting on your electricity bill to pass judgement? They've already passed judgement you fool, and the judgement was a resounding "meh!". So tell us - do you REALLY think Abbott will be allowed to forget how he was squeezing his python so loudly and so publicly for so long? That will happen no matter who the Labor leader is lolly. Abbott will get to enjoy having his nose rubbed in it for years to come. And I'll enjoy every last second of watching that happen. |

My child would become like those African children we see every 2 years, hollow cheeked & malnourished because food prices will have become unaffordable(due to high refrigerant gas costs ;DFFS) My city would be overrun with vagrants, tossed from their job as factories close. Wait until the bills roll in. Anyway, its not exclusively the cost that people are angry about:
1. Julia lied to us. 2. People know this is an utterly futile new tax that will do nothing to avert the global warming boogey man. |

The price on carbon has destroyed our once great country and now we have become the Somalia of the Asia/Pacific. Thanks a lot Jewliar |

be interesting to see what ppl think once the flow through of the CT has occurred through the supply chain.
Many businesses are doing what the government wants, that is if they raise prices which they will they just wont blame it on the CT, it will be other factors, that way they can raise prices as needed but not worry about being fined, and the gov can then claim that no prioce rises were due to the CT. |

wrong longstupidone ... 38% THINK they are worse off (an opinion), they aren't smart or brave enough to pretend that its a certainty because someone may ask to see their bills ... the remainder have said that they have not noticed any difference .... that's not an opinion, its an observation based on what they are experiencing ... if this is , as you claim, not a success by labor standards, it must be a downright tragedy by liberal standards .... |

Meanwhile, on Planet Earth, chicken prices are set to skyrocket over the next week. not because of the carbon tax but because of the effect carbon induced warming is currently having on the American corn crop. I'm sure the anti-CT lobby will be duly struck by the irony of the situation.
Australian consumers are about to pay a lot more for chicken, with at least one retailer saying prices will double from next week. Chicken meat producers are bumping up their prices as the cost of feed grain soars because of drought in the United States. The Australian landscape is dominated by seven large producers, but the top two - Baiada and Inghams - supply 70 per cent of the meat market. Those two companies are vertically integrated, meaning they make their own feed and own the entire chain of production from chick hatchery to slaughterhouse, making it easier to pass on cost increases. Chicken Meat Federation deputy director Vivien Kite says grain prices have increased significantly over the last three months on the back of forecasts of heavy drought impacts on the US corn crop. "For example, we've seen wheat prices here increase by about $100 a tonne over the last three months and that represents an increase of around 30 per cent, perhaps even more," she said. |

It just means their is a sucker born every day skippy. The latest big new tax is less than a month old. Electricity bills come in three month cycles. Most companies budgets run in monthly cycles. Which means of course no-ones noticed any changes yet. The poll is meaningless. |

Yes interesting that because you point at the deficiencies in the data that they continually serve up to support their "predictions" they scream denier and yet when you can point at history they are happy to deny or ignore the fact that it ever happened. That's the beauty of GW predictions you can continually change your theory to fit the facts and then claim to call it "science". What a sweet deal. The Australia wide Federation drought is an historical case in point and if the same circumstance happened now we would really be in the deep stuff. It lasted from 1895 to 1903. What is more it was followed by some of the heaviest and widespread rains on record. Most states were also listed as in drought 1911-1916, 1918-1920, 1939-1945, 1958-1968, etc and excludes localised state droughts. Alas progs we are constrained by such things and history and evidence and do not have the luxury of such a wide ranging and speculative brief. ;) Murray River bed 1914 |

But the huge tax cuts for low paid has already taken effect. How far in front will they be before they see any negative impact if any do eventually show up. People got an extra 10K tax free from the last pay period, for anyone on a wage of 30K this is a huge increase. Instead of paying tax on around $22K it goes down to around $11K or half of last years tax bill. |
