Well, Ok, I don't really mean all sorts of domestic help. I am not saying I would let them in the house or anything like that, but there's plenty to do outside So I am hoping for some extra supply of unskilled labour.

We actually did abolish it in Australia but the mongrels bought it back because people dont understand freedom don't come cheap - you have to resist those who would take it from you - Aussie did not want to fight - that situation has changed.... :) :)

Good post Prevailing but it seems slavery has returned.

Sometimes I get fed up with my job & think of how nice

Then I realise that $240 a week plus working for the dole
is little better than slavery & that helps me to keep my job.
Even though I have no rent or mortgage to pay $240 would still leave me below the poverty line.

Homeless people can't work for the dole. Someone will steal away with their tent or cardboard box and all their worldly goods while they're "at work".

This is the result of 50 years of public housing neglect. The states sold off valuable and much needed public housing over the years and neglected to build more to replace those ones, and to cater for an ever growing population.

Why can't they build cheap accommodation out of shipping containers or supply mining style donga's for the homeless. Surely that's better than tents set up in parks and on vacant blocks.

Yeh they sold the public housing off to property speculators, developers and hoarders who are now ripping off their tenants whilst enjoying capital gains :(

At the very least they could offer low cost housing in the form of used shipping containers. It would be better insulated than a tent ;)

No it's not charity. It's a 2 way business contract where you offer a service to an employer and he in turn pays you for that service. There is no charity whatsoever and like any business you shop around for the best deal !! However I don't believe that tax payers should be offering money to foreign corporations which have this as their agenda. That is the charity in all of this  :(

I think we use our existing housing fairly poorly.
Many single person dwellings with 1 occupant. In a 4 bedroom house
Public housing qld are now forcing people to share despite some major objections.
But their approach is a little hypocritical as they will not allow relatives with caravans to live on site in any public house dwelling , ie to share facilities.
Certainly many Canadian residences have a rentable granny flat and this may be a good thing. Might reduce public transport infrastructure being stretched out to enormous distances from cbd

He could well have a notebook and there is plenty of free wi fi areas in most towns and cities these days. Public libraries always have free wi fi.

Call it what you like, but people that live for extended periods in tents, whether in campsites, caravan parks or alone in the bush, and have no other address are considered to be homeless.

Should we just say tent dwellers will be setting up near you. It only makes sense that as our homeless population increases, the number of people living in tents will increase.

Your wiki page is talking about an engine that works with water pressure. The water does not power the engine, instead, whatever is pressurizing the water is the power source.

For this to work on a car it would need to have a system (a pump) to build up and maintain a constant pressurized water source. Well they were talking about the tent cities @ the mining towns again on ABC24 this morning. Showed pictures too. Perhaps you should watch the news then longy? Maybe you will see them. Apparently there are plenty of jobs but no accommodation.

Of course thats a whole new lot of ppl that are homeless isnt it. Apparently there was land put aside to make housing estates and even sold to developers then the govt wouldn't approve the building because the mining industry said they needed the land to mine - so no new houses and some ripped off investors.

This is the thing - there are a lot of ppl that simply cant find accommodation. If it does exist its too expensive. Some of these ppl are not broke and are working. The govt is not approving developments.

You know what I'd love to do?  Build my own home.  Not the pussy version people refer to when they say they're "building their own home" these days - which is just paying some fat oaf to slap some bricks together, and charge $200,000 for the privilege.  No, I want to actually build my home, with my own two hands.  It wouldn't be as flash as the one I'm in now, but it would protect my family and I from the elements.  You know, what a home is supposed to do?   

But I am denied that right, and all because of the useless parasite class known as the bureaucracy, whos sole purpose in life is to make things harder for everyone.  Seriously.  Zoning, council approval, building codes, mandatory additions...the list goes on.  So, I either slave away day in, day out, paying 10 years income just to put a roof over our heads, or I'm out on the street.  There is no middle ground, you're either a slave, or you'll be destroyed. If I am happy living in a shitbrick hut, what business is it of the fat bitch behind the desk at the council offices?  Well, it shouldn't be anything to do with her, except that it contradicts her very reason for existing - to make things more difficult for everyone.
