Do you still think Abu does not want Shariah law for Australia?

Do you still think Abu does not follow the Koran?

Person 1: I say only straight people can get married

Person 2: I say straight people must get married (at gun point if necessary)

Person 1 is therefore neutral as well. Because they are clearly not as extreme as person 2.

See how easy it is to set up an extreme view so you can then say you're not as extreme. Even your own chart says that no one is arguing that only gay people can marry. So how does creating a non existent extreme view make you neutral.

Try again...

Someone who says marriage is between a man and a women? Yep. Doesn't make me an extremist no matter how far you try to move the other end of the field.

Another thread by the drama queens accusing anyone of not supporting gay marriage as extreme.

Can the idiot who produced that picture spell "bigot"?

These selfish self centred gays dont care about anyone except themselves, they accuse those in the west of being extreme when it comes to gay marriage yet they are silent about those who are executed for homosexuality in the Islamic world.

Spot sticks up for gay marriage and calls those who will not accept it as extremists , he also sticks up for Islam which has the death penalty for homosexuality in about half a dozen countries in 2012.

Islam has the death penalty for homosexuality yet spot will never say anything bad about Islam he defends a belief that executes homos while calling those who dont like the idea of gay marriage as extreme.

The gays in america arent trying to get "rights" in the islamic world. Nor are the aussie ones.

It is becoming clearer and clearer that Spot is either one of two things. He is either;

1) A young modern brainwashed PC liberal, who thinks that he can only criticize those things he has been told to. So white straight Christian men are fair game, but he must never ever say anything bad about Muslims, gays, women, or non white westerners. A person who is incapable of free thought or critical thinking; he just defends what he is told to defend, and attacks what he is told to attack. A good little 21st century robotic citizen.

2) Secretly a gay Muslim who hides behind being a straight atheist Australian persona to pretend he has a level of objectivity. He will therefore never be critical of gays or Muslims, but will attack Christians and straights whilst pretending he has no agenda. Yet the sheer number of posts that attack traditional Australian values whilst speaking in favor of the opposite is creating more and more suspicion about what he really stands for.

I used to think it was number 1. I am moving towards him being number 2. He just has too much of an agenda and screams "I am objective and neutral" far too much. Would any normal person spend this much time on the Internet screaming the same thing if they didn't have an agenda?

You start a provocative thread by posting a stupid diagram. I show why it is biased and illogical. Your only reply is to then say I am person 1 in my example.

Did you have any intention of discussing this topic? Or were just thinking that this would show how smart you are and would shut everyone else up? Because if you don't even want to discuss the topic of your own thread what is the point?

Title: Re: Extremism
Post by Spot of Borg on Aug 24th, 2012 at 5:39pm
Well there isnt much to say. Extremism is extremism and the extremists like to say the non-extremists are extreme in order to make them seem opposite. the diagram just shows the true opposite. What you tried to "discuss" (lol) was gay marriage. A strawman.

You have not shown where it is biased and illogical @ all.

Yes I have. It is biased to set up an artificial extreme position so as to move the centre further up one end. The only way you can claim to be neutral is by making another position that is unrealistic. Hence why I showed that the other side can make a similar extreme position and claim to be neutral as well. You have done nothing to refute that, you just went back to your normal routine of ignoring the point.

Except that your chart claims that "only straight people can marry" is extreme, when it's just the way it has always been - how can an "extreme" situation persist for thousands of years?

;D

Of course he hasn't shown it. You have shown it already!

You are thick and clueless enough to think that you are the neutral, unbiased voice of reasonableness. But in fact we all stand around amazed at how completely you lack any semblance of self-awareness. You just don't have even a tentative, provisional insight into how militantly, insistently thick you are.

Anybody can marry - that's neutral only if you are monumentally stupid or enervated beyond help. To portray your own unthinking, incoherent, completely inarticulate  and unarticulated positions as neutral is the arrogance of the village idiot.

I think Spot's point is that it is all relative so he can make up whatever he wants.

Step 14 already? Spot likes to mix things up a bit.

1) Spot says something really stupid.
2) Spot repeats himself, seemingly oblivious to what other people say.
3) Spot changes the topic.
4) Spot denies saying stupid thing.
5) Spot demands people prove that he said it.
6) Spot accuses them of lying, misrepresenting him, editing quotes, quoting him out of context etc.
7) Spot denies that he denied saying stupid thing.
8) Spot pretends to be too silly to follow links.
9) Spot says he isn't interested in links anyway.
10) Spot demands the same links again.
11) Spot complains about links and accuses people of 'quote mining'.
12) Spot gets all confused about what the topic is and tries to change it again.
13) Spot demands people prove something else before he will address stupid thing he said.
14) Spot accuses everyone who disagrees with him of being a sock puppet.
15) Spot retreats to the safety of vague generalisations and meaningless accusations.
16) Spot complains that he said it too long ago and he now expects other people to prove something did not happen, rather than him showing where it did happen as he claimed.
17) Spot claims he has already backed up his claims, but does not know where.
18) Spot parrots accusations back at the accuser.
19) Spot threatens to do it all again if people keep pointing out how silly his posts are.
