Title: Libbo Gina - we should work for $2 a day.
Post by bobbythebat1 on Sep 5th, 2012 at 11:32pm
Gina Rinehart  would like us to work for $2 a day to compete with Africans.

Apparently she makes $2 million an hour!
(according to the ABC1 tonight )

You see how Liberals think?

Gina Rinehart has used a rare video appearance to repeat her warning that Australians need to work harder
to compete with Africans who will labour for less than $2 a day.

This is how Labor thinks:

Julia says:

Quote:
Julia Gillard says she does not agree Australia is a difficult place to invest and that she has a different view of how workers should be treated.

"It's not the Australian way to toss people a $2 gold coin and then ask them to work for a day," she said.

"We support proper Australian wages and decent working conditions for Australian people.

"We are not going to have wage rates the same as the wage rates in Africa. We're not going to compete on those kinds of cost differentials.

"We're going to compete on our great mineral deposits, our application of technology and high skills to the task. We mine differently than in other countries."

Who is right - Liberals or Labor?

Gina Winefart is a nobody without the chinese buying her sh.t from her.

Lets face it she was born with a silver spoon stuck up her arse and makes out like she worked realllyy realllly hard for it when we all know it was given to her on a platter by dear old dad.

Maybe she should compare herself with self made chinese billionaire The Sun King: Shi Zhengrong and see how she would fair. She would come off second best of course ;)

http://www.themonthly.com.au/shi-zhengrong-sun-king-eric-knight-3363

Quote:
In November 2000 four officials from the Chinese province of Jiangsu travelled to Sydney to meet a 37-year-old Australian researcher, Shi Zhengrong. As the party shared a meal at Shi’s home in Beacon Hill, the head of the delegation turned to Shi and made him an offer. Return to China, he said, and he would be helped to enter business for himself. The delegate said he would arrange cheap land, dexterous labour and a US$6 million equity investment from the Wuxi municipal government. In exchange Shi would start a solar company, the Wuxi Suntech Power Corporation, in partnership with the local state-owned enterprise.

Shi took six months to make his decision. He had arrived in Australia the year before the Tiananmen Square protests had engulfed his homeland. Since then he had worked hard to achieve a settled life. He had started a family, become an Australian citizen, and taken out mortgages on three properties in outer-western Sydney. But Shi decided he would take the risk. In the winter of 2001, Shi, his wife and their seven-year-old son boarded a one-way flight from Kingsford Smith Airport to the city of Wuxi in Jiangsu. Within five years Shi had become one of the richest men in China. In 2005 the Suntech Power Holdings Company became the first privately owned company based in China to list on the New York Stock Exchange (the Wuxi government’s stake had been bought out some time before). Since then its revenues have doubled. Suntech’s current market valuation sits close to US$6 billion, making it the second-largest solar manufacturing company in the world.

Bobbie, there's no need to be coy about this issue. Members of both parties are fond of a bit of rough trade. There's nothing political about it.

Hi Nail,
The fact is that she's got so rich mining OUR resources.

They are not her's but the money goes in her pocket.
How much more  food can that fatty eat?
Why does she want all that money?

She wouldn't even say hello to workers for $2.

Here's another libbo scumbag that thinks the world owes him :(

Quote:
Billionaire plea for cheap labour

BILLIONAIRE retailer Gerry Harvey says Australia needs a two-tier wage system to allow employers to pay foreign guest workers less than locals.

The Harvey Norman boss said Australia's prosperity was creating a labour shortage and endangering the nation's competitiveness.

He said a growing number of Australian manufacturers were moving overseas, where cheap labour was plentiful.

He called on the Federal Government to allow foreign workers on fixed visas to form a second tier to the labour market.

"Australia doesn't have cheap labour. Many overseas workers would be prepared to move here for a much better life and half the money Australians earn," he said.

"When you get unemployment down to four per cent, to three per cent, to two per cent, business can't get the labour.

"I've got horse studs and it's difficult to get staff.

"Workers would rather work in the mines where they get paid twice as much.

"Fruit- picking companies are relying on backpackers."

Mr Harvey said both major parties needed to open the gates to migrants.

"The US can draw on a lot of cheap labour from Mexico and South America," he said.

"People from those countries move to the US looking for a better life.

"European countries can draw on cheap labour from eastern Europe.

"The danger of being too prosperous is that it can come back to bite you - you can become too lazy and other nations work harder and overtake you."

"What I'm saying is not politically correct.

"You won't get politicians saying what I'm saying, but privately they know this sort of thing is a reality in the future."

No Gerry you won't get a lot of people saying that !! You expect people to work for peanuts whilst at the same time getting ripped off in your stores instead of doing what you want to do and look to china for a better deal !!

Where does she say she wants people to work for $2 a day?

From the quote above she says that we can't compete with countries paying $2 a day, but we can compete in other areas. I take that to mean that paying someone $20 an hour in Australia to make Tshirts is a waste of time, as other countries pay people $2 a day to make the same shirt. But, there are other areas like mining where we as a nation have an advantage, so in those areas we are still globally competitive.

If that is what she meant, how is she wrong?

I dont think she was suggesting that we work for $2 a day.

I interpreted it as this is what we are competing a against.

I could tell my wife my next door neighbour and his wife have sex 4 times a day, doesnt mean Im going to get it does it.

So what is her point ?

When you are born with a silver spoon stuck up your arse it's easy to criticize anyone earning a standard wage here :(

If Gina is so impressed with Africa, then perhaps she can start a new mining operation there?

In the interim, she can hand back her OZ mining operations & tenements, so someone based in reality can get on with making a fair outcome for themselves & the Australian Public.

And, if Gina is fair dinkum about Africa, then perhaps she should also live there, to see what $2 p/day really means?

The chinese are already mining in africa. They are working hard and not relying on an inheritance to prosper ;)

Maybe Whinefart should move her mines over to africa to take advantage of the cheap labour ;)

Rinehart never said anything about Aussies should work for $2 a day - only that cheaper labor is there and an alternative.

For the record - I do think that someone in her position, with her wealth, is more likely to be in a position to support Aussie labour and should out of loyalty.

We should have laws to limit capital transfers overseas. It should not be possible to set up Australian companies on foreign land without regulation and a bureaucracy to watch over them. They should also be expected to pay taxes to our government from there. Actually they should make foreign-based Australian companies state-owned. Some of the revenue will go to the government. This will keep the carpetbaggers from going overseas. :D :D

If people were happy with what they had, they wouldn't need to be paid so much. Unfortunately, the fatcats just don't want to share their wealth and keep dumping their money into swimming pools, mansions, fast cars, private education and luxury products that ordinary people cannot afford. Unfortunately, no amount of judgmental flak and vitriol will stop these people living extravagant lifestyles. No amount of bullying on Twitter and Facebook will hold these people accountable.

GET OFF your FAT arse Gina Reinhardt and Make theses jobs in the minning industry available to the people that need them in Australia. The unemployed, not the people that don't need them.
Those that leave there jobs to go work in the minning Industy.

Why do we have such bad unemployment in this country.
There are employers screaming for workers and yet we run a unemployment industry where we keep people unemployed so other people can have JOBS.

What the mining companies need to do is provide proper accomodation for workers.
We've heard too many stories of run down old houses being rented out for $1,000 per week
& many workers living in caravan parks in 45 degree heat.
