In terms of Mr Abbotts record of in relation to bullying and violence or near violence and intimidation the fact is he was taken to court on a sex charge and there were witnesses who said he threw punches towards a woman. I don't believe it credabble to suggest it didn't happen.

But on the other hand the young Liberals have an attrocious record on what they have said and done over the years and I doubt that Abbott was any different if people want to look at his statments as a uni student.

I have always accepted that he went to an election.

The difference we have is in what that means.

The fact that he had promised to never ever introduce a GST in my view means that he had promised to not take it to an election and that taking it to an election does not mean that he had not promised to never introduce a GST or that in introducing it he had not broken that iron clad gaurantee.

Without that original promise Howard would have never been PM.
