http://www.theage.com.au/opinion/political-news/gillard-remembers-father-as-she-returns-to-work-20121228-2bys8.html
"Each year when I come to Adelaide, I get to celebrate the next step my niece and nephew have taken in their adult lives – even though it feels not so long ago we talked about their favourite teachers and school friends," she said. "Each year my parents have got older, too, and this year was our first without Dad." |

STFU Gillard
You've asked for privacy - but then you go on public record about it. How is that not hypocritical |

Is this really how low the right will go to attack Julia Gillard.....Now she cannot even mention her father in positive reflection without being called a hypocrite by the extremist element....I am not surprised you have missed the point altogether >:( >:( >:( |

well while it seems unfair, she hs sorta asked for it. she used him in parliament to attack Abbott... she can dish it out but cries when it comes back "I am woman, watch me complain..." |

Exactly right. Even for Gillard's low standards, I was shocked when she said "My father did not die of shame", when the topic wasn't even about him. Pulls the sympathy card, pulls the sex card, pulls the victim card, does Gillard. Because we all know that she can't pull the credibility card, the competency card, or the honesty card. |

Not just today, she's been doing it all year. Now that the election year is a mere three days away, watch her get even more desperate. |

Wow what a heartless cow..thinking of her father not being with the family at Christmas time..I dont know how she lives with herself :D
I hope Abbott brings this up in the media as soon as possible ;D |

You guys are an embarrassment and a Joke, I would advise that you don't show you mother what you are saying. Because we all know that she can't pull the credibility card, the competency card, or the honesty card As if Tony Abbott would even know what those words mean. |

I look forward to some crazy old fart ringing the shock jocks over the next few days and pointing this out ;D

What does my (or anyone else's) mother have to do with this? And again, why bring Abbott into it? He wasn't the topic, why do Labor and their supporters always do this? |

There have been a number of statments made in this thread that most peoples mother would be ashamed of. And again, why bring Abbott into it? He wasn't the topic, why do Labor and their supporters always do this You make a false statment about our PM where the opposition leader fails to meet the same standard you will be told it is the case and it is fair game. |

Debatable. I know many women who despise Gillard. If you want some public examples, excluding Coalition pollies, just see what Miranda Devine, Janet Albrechtsen, Prue MacSween and Niki Savva have to say about her. What false statement did I make about Gillard? :-? |

On the whole the Gillard performance has been credibility, competent and honest. Miranda Devine, Janet Albrechtsen, Prue MacSween and Niki Savva have to say about her. We will see if any of them come out with this attrocious attack on Gillard, bet they wouldn't touch this with your one. This is Alan mk2. |

I would think that irrelevant, like her or hate her people will not support attacking the relationship or comments about a recently deceased parent. It is abhorrent. |
