http://au.news.yahoo.com/latest/a/-/latest/15736313/ndis-education-before-election-gillard/
Prime Minister Julia Gillard says her government has two major items to implement in 2013 before going to an election - introducing the National Disability Insurance Scheme and undertaking further major education reforms. Ms Gillard took time off from her holidays to make an appearance at the Woodford Folk Festival on Sunday. She says the government would continue to work to keep the economy strong and jobs rolling, but the other two issues were her "two big ambitions for 2013 before we get around to winning that election". "I want to see us launch the National Disability Insurance Scheme on the first of July," she told the festival crowd. "Then the other thing I've got a really big focus on is delivering on further education reforms. "We had a fair old wake up call in international testing (recently). We can make sure our kids can get a world-class education." She said the government had already made changes to a number of schools that had been struggling. "What we've got to do now is take it and upscale and give it to every school and make a difference to every school. "I'm absolutely determined that we're battling through on that." |

Is that as late as they can put it off? Because that's when it will be. They want those trappings of office for every day they can hold them.

She wants NDIS implemented by July - but we know Labor suck at implementation so it could be August.
You need 6 weeks for a decent election campaign. Given Labor's 2PP they will need 8 weeks. Can't remember the last time an election was held in the last week of September so that leaves mid-Nov as the ideal date. She wouldn't want to leave it until December when Budget forecast comes out and prove her wrong again. |

She's really got no choice hadrian Labor has to deliver a Budget in May - unless they can produce a Surplus it's another hit in the polls for her NDIS delivery in July is about the only good news for her. They've tried to hit Abbott with everything they've got this year - so unless he does something silly his numbers shouldn't go any lower. LIBs are now in that defensive mode because they know it's their election to lose. No Hewson moment!! |

she is clearly indicating that she realises she is a dead duck and is going to hang on to the very last day possible. Politically, it is wise. Ethically however, ir is par for course.

Oh by the way..Ive been chatting to you fellas for around 8 yrs now and theres been two federal elections in that time of which you have predicted wrongly both times.
Granted you have to get it right sooner or later but your record for predicting the demise of the federal Labor Party has been pretty poor up to now. |

you mean the 'hanging on for grim death, ignoring the wishes of the people month'? yep, that onel. I am sure you are proud. BTW yet again, the best PM ever - Howard - made that prediction long before you did. |

Who said he was the best prime minister ever. Did anyone ask you, now be truthfully. Do you know anyone that was ask? No one ask me who was the best Prime Minister. I know you are going to say that is was a opinion poll. What poll company was it? Morgan the poll company you can't trust? |

I've predicted correctly once. I got the last one wrong because I assumed Gillard was telling the truth when she said (1) There will be no carbon tax.... (2) There will be a Budget surplus in 2012/13 no ifs no buts |

Billy McMahon was a lot better Prime Minister then Howard McMahon stood his ground on things he didn't change his mind all the time, he wasn't racist like Howard. yes he lost the one and only election that he led the government in, but he didn't lose his seat at that election In his only election as Prime Minister, William McMahon faces the voters at Box Hill, Victoria in November 1972. Actually right up to the elections you said the Libs would romp it in and when they didnt you disappeared for 6mths licking your wounds while Longy, Cods and the others stuck around arguing their cases. You do have something in common with Abbott..when the going gets tough you disappear and let others do the work. |

you just make this stuff up as you go along. you used to be a credible poster but now you just lie and really not much else. for the record, i predicted a very close result (how surprising since everyone else did) and hoped for a close abbot victory. I then returned to debate it a few days later. some scientist you are... all you do now is make stuff up and lie about it. but of course... you are an AGW disciple. they ALL do that. |

Point out all the lies in that post..coz there is not one. If your praising Maqqa for doing a runner after every election loss then you're crazier than I thought. I was actually giving you and Cods way more credit than Maqqas ever given either of you...in case you haven't noticed he thinks he is way superior to either of you despite you guys sticking around and giving as good as you get no matter the circumstance |

I've thought all along that Gillard would hold off until the last possible date - November 30, 2013.
That's fine by me, I can wait. A maximum of 11 months to this day, and Labor will be out. This next time next year, we will have a Coalition, Abbott-led government, and nothing could be better. |

She will not last, but if she does, labor are dumber and more ideologically driven now then any time I can remember. They would be a mirror to the greens. The AWU fraud should get rid of her out of principle next year when the heat gets put back on, but we will see how ideological labor have become. |

I love how the Coalition count their chickens, before they hatch. You understand, you do actually have to win the election you know?. ;D

Labor have long conned the Aust voters into judging the LIBs by a higher standard than it should apply to the ALP But Labor is changing tact - it is trying to convince voters that the severity of a LIB event is the same as a Labor event For example - lying about the carbon tax is the same severity as Abbott allegedly punching a way Or if they don't have anything on Abbott - make it up. If enough people say Abbott is misogynist then it would stick. |

All liberals need is one good/great compelling, spells everything out advert and they are home and hosed on the biggest election win ever. Come up with an advert that is half good, not compelling and doesnt piece it all together and they will get a win. Labor on the other hand can only come up with a grubby advert as if to gain them something and they lose. By how much depends on liberals advert and the loss could be worse depending on how grubby labor's are. |

NDIS is a good idea and has bipartisan support I believe, it must be overseen by a Liberal Government though as under Hard Labor it will just become yet another rorters paradise as they don't give a frogs fat ass about taxpayers monies, in fact they have a sneaking respect for those that do rort the taxpayer, the boat people scam being a fine example.
