Title: Plibersek playing with Victorian lives

The Federal Government is moving to break a deadlock over funding for Victoria's health system.

The ABC understands Federal Health Minister Tanya Plibersek is poised to announce plans to bypass the Baillieu Government and give more than $100 million directly to hospitals.

The move means the Federal Government is backing down from its plan to retrospectively cut $107 million from Victorian hospitals.

The per capita funding was to be withdrawn this financial year, based on a downward adjustment to the state's population figures.

The funding war between the federal and state governments has led to hospitals announcing they would cut jobs and operations.

Both sides of politics have been blaming each other for the funding shortfalls.

Let me get this

(1) Labor says it will cancel $100M funding to VIC hospitals
(2) Labor now wants to hand the money over the hospitals directly

Playing politics much Labor?
