I would guess she weighs at least 10kg more than what they are saying.

That would give her a BMI of 23.2

So, at 166cm tall and 74kg her BMI would be 26.9.

How do you know how tall Julia is or what she weighs?

Having said that, she is definitely overweight ... her legs look like billiard table legs,  She has a fairly thin face and not too many chins but I certainly would not want to be sat upon by her on a bus!  She could lose 100 pounds (45 kilos) before you would notice anything different!

Thanks Health Advisor.  Only you're not quite right. Dieticians have long recommended that it's 3 medium meals a day with snacks in between, to ensure a person never feels hunger.  Feeling hunger is what leads to gorging on food.

Sugar in coffee IS most certainly PART of the problem.

A cup of coffee with sugar is just the same as "snacks in between" (often it leads to them reaching for a biscuit as well).

One needs a minimum of food to keep the motor running.  It used to be 1,200 calories per day which equals approx 5040 kilojules per DAY to maintain your current weight.

Apparently the now average intake is 8,700 KJ a day .......  which is approximately 2,080 calories a DAY.  That is 880 more calories than you NEED.

I was once told that to lose a "pound (half a kilo) a WEEK" you need to cut down 500 calories per DAY.  Get your diet back to 1200 calories or less than 5000 kilojules a day and you will, eventually, lose some weight.

No wonder people are so Morbidly Fat!

It is definitely not the sugar in your coffee nor the butter you put on your toast.

Before I moved into Pharma I worked for a global sugar company and our key innovative product was High Concentrated Fructose Corn Syrup. White sugar had a bad name in the western world in the age of diets etc so HCFCS was manufactured and genetically modified because it has the bonus of fooling the body when it tells you that you're full. So you eat more when you don't need more. Have a look how much of this is in your diet from products. You'd be surprised!! By the way when I worked there we owned Bundaberg Sugar and then sold it to Sucre France. Yet guess what we could put on the packet? "Proudly Australian owned". Lol. Like they say, there's one born every minute. My career has been genetically modified sugars, Global Pharma and Oil. Bob Brown-esque....

Herein lies most answers to obesity today. Just add a little bit of sedentary lifestyle and you'll be thinking your Levi's have shrunk in the wash once again  ;D ;D ;D

The other factor is of course....alcohol.....its all calories and its your choice to drink 'em or eat 'em.

So for a country that drinks and eats too much there ain't a lot of hope for most people to ever see their toes again.
