Title: Abbotts miracle economy is just a heartbeat away Post by adelcrow on Mar 30th, 2013 at 7:23am
Cmon people Abbott is going to deliver this country lower interest rates, accelerated growth, record investment, world class hospitals and schools, record growth in local manufacturing, price increases for our resources, energy price decreases, yearly surpluses, increased state spending, he will cure the world refugee crises and on top of all that he is going to do the lot while the rest of the world is stumbling in and out of a recession that will last at least another decade.
I for one am interested to see how he is going to increase growth while slashing interest rates and inflation all while our trading partners economies are shrinking. Bringing down energy prices while increasing the price our big energy resource companies get for coal, gas and oil will be interesting as well. Ive never seen a magic pudding so Im looking forward to laying my eyes on one for the first time :D Along with most of the countries independent economists Im predicting a worldwide credit crash next year so Abbotts magic pudding will come in very handy ;D |

Im looking forward to Abbotts new economic theories at work..the man can deliver a growing economy and cut prices to consumers while increasing prices to providers and slashing interest rates while attracting new foreign investment while providing surpluses while increasing state spending and giving us world class public hospitals and schools while cutting taxes and Im sure like myself the worlds economists are waiting with baited breath to see these revolutionary new economic theories at work.

The proof is in the eating. Labor - perpetual debt slave masters Liberals - money managers You want to change the recipes. Then get labor to be more responsible. You have to get rid of the hidden union tax first. |

That is only conservative spin with no factual relationship. Remember in 2007 the conservative fear campaign was all about Labor driving interest rates up to incredible levels and inflation going through the roof. Fact is that more Labor governments have produced surplus budgets than Liberal governments, neither interest rates or inflation have been higher under Labor governments and either group will go into debt in an economic downturn. The proof is in the eating. But the truth isn't in your statement. Look at the story above: this is really close to what Abbott has been saying he will do, anyone who believes that his seriously conflicted self defeating position is even remotely possible is a FOOL. |

So do you propose a status quo and keep borrowing bllions to pay our bills??
Somethings gotta give now I ask a striaght forward question. Labor doesn't produce surpluses, so where would we be in 10 years time if labor is in office for those 10 years? how many hundreds of billions of debt would we be in??? cause ya know if we continue to run at a deficit, its only a matter of time before we are in the same class of debt as Greece is now sur ewe aren't now but what about 10 15 years time?? You have no economic accountabillity. Its just spend spend spend borrow borrow borrow, never mind the level of debt. |

The level of debt is not a problem at the moment. Delivering a surplus this year would have done more harm than good. In reaffirming Australia's AAA credit rating the international credit rating agency came to the exact opposite conclusion to you. Quote:
They believe that Labor is committed to a process of fiscal consolidation. |

Now, until Abbott's grab bag of promises are properly costed and audited, the same can not be said for the alternative government.

There are no miracles ahead, mate.
If Abbot wins it'll be uphill all the way to revive what that heartless bitch had cacked - even as the seemingly unimportant sport. Abbott will have to cut down on costs, such as departments on the scam global warming. . . Heard about some idiots sitting at side of cows counting their burps and far*ts? Carbon emissions plus! I was brought up on a dairy farm and can't even recall a cow burping! Such people are being paid good money for this pastime. That's why the country is in $300 billion deficit. nd encourage miners and local agriculture and manufacture. |

It was too incredible to ever happen. Wayne Swan would have had to make a lot of budget cuts or hope the mining taxes would give them the revenue they needed. They put too much hope into wishful thinking. They certainly wanted to believe that. They didn't want to believe the worst case scenario. Now whatever was going to happen has happened. The Wikipedia on Wayne Swan says Wayne Swan is "Christian." Well, he should have paid more attention in church. It is commonly declared in church that, "The wise man builds his house on solid ground, the fool builds it on sinking sand." |

Lets not forget the Howard Government promised more spending and the Coalition proposed tax cuts instead of one off stimulus to combat the GFC.....Both measures would have pushed the budget further into debt with less capacity to raise revenue.....It was the Howard tax cuts that put the budget into structural deficit in the first place!!!

So this is to be the excuse, is it, for Labor's 6 years of chaos, profligacy and intentional undermining of society? |

All in your mind - planted by the media on behalf of the Liberals. The proposed surplus was budgeted and based on the estimates of the time, it was too aggressive but achievable had the economic position remained stable with the projections. You guys are happy to attack this but have no comment about the Abbott grab bag of contradictory impossibility. That is all OK. Believers in the magic pudding. Just stick to the formula - you cant answer on the topic so just bash Labor about something minor. |

All in your mind - planted by the media on behalf of the Liberals.
That's rich coming from the direct descendants of the creators of propaganda! If I couldn't think for myself I'd be poor right now. The whole point is that we've had a govt which has been a proven failure, unlike its Hawke/Keating predecessors, and we have no choice to go to an alternative whose members have a proven record of success. |

govt which has been a proven failure Not supportable in fact based on performance. Still no comment on the actual topic of Abbotts monkey magic. $100 Billion + in unfunded promises OH and a surplus in the first year - yuk yuk yuk. Thats a good one. The facts say that if he keeps his spending commitments he won't see a surplus inside a decade. He is going to increase the market price of raw material like coal etc and reduce the cost of power - ho ho ho. See Macca's equation on price, when the cost goes up the price doesn't come down. an alternative whose members have a proven record of success. Abbott has a long term proven record of failure and nothing inspiring confidence in his team. Just look at his plan - the magic pudding - you really want to go that way??? |

DNA if you think this Government has been a success then you are a biased old hack.
It's been terrible. Good Governments don't have the disdain of the people like this one has. "If this carries on, it's going to be a car crash in September and we are going to be on the wrong end of a landslide, and we've no one else to blame. Bloody shambles it is" Graham Richardson |
