Former Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett has died in New York after a long battle with cancer. Amphlett, 53, lived in New York with her husband, former Divinyls drummer Charley Drayton. She revealed in 2010 that she had breast cancer, and she had also battled multiple sclerosis |

This week ...
Margaret Thatcher dies, at 87 Chrissy Amphlett dies, at 53 I'm not sure if these events - PROVE the existence of a creator - or totally DEBUNK it ? |

I still enjoy her music she was a complete artist and highly respected Australian.
I watched her on RockQuiz and when she came out she got a standing ovation which sent her to tears. I don't think she fully understood the impact she had on many peoples lives. |

I've vaguely heard of her.
I Googled and looked at her images. Dear o dear o dear. When she was young, and sweet, and cute ~ she looked beautiful and normal. But then the silly ingenué went and got her upper lip injected with bee-sting or collagen or whatever so that her mouth looked like a chimpanzee's arse heaving for a sh1t. And yes, just as is the fashion today ~ she went off and married a Negro as payback to her parents for a strict upbringing. There is now a long roll-call of celebrity white girls who have linked themselves to Negroes as girlfriends and wives as an 'Up Yours!' fashion statement and a 'bugger-you' counter-intuitive protest against society's conventions. Celebrity white couples have even thought it cute to adopt little black boys as novelty household pets for the cocktail crowd to fuss over. Where will it all end? |

The dying wish of the Divinyls frontwoman Chrissy Amphlett may come true.
Cancer groups and the Health Minister are backing the late singer's call for one of her favourite tunes to be used to promote breast cancer awareness. It was the Divinyls biggest hit, and it was a song that would also touch countless fans. But for Ms Amphlett, it was a song she wanted used for so much more. "You know I really wish now that I Touch Myself, it's so appropriate now more than ever. You know, it really should be the breast cancer song," she told Seven's Sunday Night last year. The 53-year-old rock great wanted the single to become an anthem for women's health. Her family reveals it was her dying wish to help save lives. "Chrissy expressed hope that her worldwide hit "I Touch Myself" would remind women to perform breast examinations," her cousin Little Pattie told 7News As a campaign theme, cancer organisations say the song could prove priceless. "Oh definitely, we would definitely find a use for it," the New South Wales Council Council's Gill Batt said. "I think that song could well become an anthem, and that could be her legacy, I think that would be a perfect legacy for her." There will be rights issues to overcome, but already the Federal Government is on side. "I think it's a fantastic idea, because we know that the best way to pick up cancer is for women to be doing regular self-examination," Tanya Plibersek said. And as if to prove Chrissy's popularity, and the potential of any campaign involving her music, overnight a Divinyls 'Best Of' album rocketed to number one in the charts. http://au.news.yahoo.com/vic/latest/a/-/newshome/16856285/chrissy-amphletts-dying-wish-for-I-Touch-Myself/ |

Just as long as you spell my name right, darkhall. Some celebrity dies, and it naturally provokes comment about him or her ~ with some of it perhaps not being entirely PC and hypocritical. Alan Jones was forced to apologise in order to save his career ~ I will not be doing so. Joan Baez had a rare and beautiful voice... and then bugger*ed up her life with heavy drugs until it killed her. How many other idiots of this sort have gone the same way in the past 40 years? Keith Ledger ... and the rest. I'm intolerant of such stupid behaviour. Same with these retards who have their lips blown up so they look like mullets. Utter idiots who cancel any respect I once had for them. Dannii Minogue is just teetering on the edge. She's had her nose sliced under the knife so that it closely resembles what nutter Michael Jackson had done to him. She's still okay though, but I'm expecting at any moment she'll opt for a bee-sting to make her mouth look 'luscious and inviting' ... Was I a bit insensitive about Amphlett? Okay, I apologise. How about the crowds in London who've been partying and celebrating Margaret Thatcher's death? All Lefties ~ the very same people who cry 'foul' when someone like me mentions that a Recently Deceased paid good money to look like a cod. |

It wasnt your comments about her looks that I was referring to. They were merely ridiculous. It wasnt your less than tasteful comments about someone recently departed. I cheered when thatcher died too. You wont find me saying "dont speak ill of the dead". It was your flatulent comments about "negroes" and the women who choose to have relationships with them. Really stupid stuff. Par for the course with "righties" I'm afraid. |

Poor form, Herbert. You do sleaze great, but your respect for truth is appalling. You'd get away with that crap at D&R....but here, there are those who do not lick boots. ;) |

Personally, I don't see any need for an apology even though I disagree. I loved the Divinyls' music as a kid and Chrissie was also the source of many boyhood fantasies. In fact, I think she was still worthy of a fantasy or two right up to the end. The music still sounds great to me and I'd reckon that she could've done it just as well by herself, such was her presence and charisma. It's a pity that so many artists often lead seemingly tragic lives, however, it might not be as tragic as it seems. |

Title: Re: Vale Chrissie Amphlett Post by Grey on Apr 26th, 2013 at 9:38pm
It's not being very much mistaken about her death that bothers me, but the accusation of heavy drug use. Joan Baez abstention from ANY drug use whatsoever is well known. I'm sure she would find such an accusation extremely upsetting.
|
Title: Re: Vale Chrissie Amphlett Post by Karnal on Apr 26th, 2013 at 9:44pm
True, Grey, but I guess we should just accept the facts. Joan Baez has been found dead after a fatal drug overdose.
She must have deserved it. |

You are right, but don't expect any retraction from the Board's new Buffoon. As Karnal so eloquently put it.....she deserved it. Don't forget, it was heavy drug use, too. Do you think Heath was her supplier? |
Title: Re: Vale Chrissie Amphlett Post by Karnal on Apr 26th, 2013 at 9:55pm
No, it must have been Chrissie Amphlett’s drug-dealing negroid husband, who she married to annoy mom and dad.
Well. They must be annoyed now. Herbert’s a New Zealander, eh? Does he live anywhere near Dunedin? I wonder if he knows Matty. |
Title: Re: Vale Chrissie Amphlett Post by Aussie on Apr 26th, 2013 at 10:16pm Karnal wrote on Apr 26th, 2013 at 9:55pm:
I don't discount the possibility. It maybe is sheer co-incidence that Herbert has arrived at about the same time as Matty launched his campaign. You'd have to concede it would be remarkable for there to be an OzPol scoop concerning any negro loving white pop star druggie without some involvement by the all knowing Matty. I guess we'll have to wait to see just how close the association is between Matty and Herbert, but early signs indicate they at least know each other very well. Could be filial. Let's hope not, hey? Are there any new developments on the suggestion that Heath was Joan's heavy drug supplier? |
