According to a US army investigation reports that investigated war prisoners in Kunming, China in April 1945, there were testimonies that people applied for a job at a Japanese factory, but ended up in sexual slavery. Moreover, there are testimonies of proof of enforced sexual slavery of 20 Korean comfort women found in Myanmar by the US army. Horace Underwood delivered reports compulsory mobilization of comfort women to the US government, and in the Netherlands State Paper Archives, there also are proofs of compulsory mobilization.

I think she meant to say the Japanese government denies that there is evidence of compulsory sex slavery during their occupation of most of Asia. Instead Jessica told us that the Japanese government acknowledges that there is evidence, which I suppose is as close to acceptance of guilt as anyone is likely to get out of them on this topic. The Japanese as notorious historical revisionists in that regard.

We've all known about it for 50 years. The Germans did it too. And what the Russian soldiers did is unspeakable.
But we have to move on, it's no good dwelling in the past.

Do so by all means but its still a matter of serious friction between South Korea and Japan. The key issue is not that it happened but that Japan still refuses, 70 years later, to admit that it happened.

  I wouldn't argue that the German and Russian soldier committed rapes by the score. "kum frau" were the only two words of German most Red soldiers knew.

But comfort women forced to live with an army, travel with them and always be available were purely a Japanese practice, I think.
