Title: Rupert reveals his hand
Post by the wise one on May 21st, 2013 at 12:54pm
Rupert reveals his hand

If there was any doubt that Rupert Murdoch is the power player behind Abbott’s thrust at The Lodge then his tweet today should remove that doubt.

Quote:
Rupert Murdoch ‏@rupertmurdoch 19 May
Oz polls show nothing can save this miserable govt. Election can not come soon enough.  People decided and tuned out months ago.

More stuff from Murdoch
https://twitter.com/rupertmurdoch?tw_i=336243564654768129&tw_p=tweetembed

Quote:
You might be asking the same question as me: Why the hell is he interested in Australia?

The answer is simple: he wants to make money out of us. And who can provide that? Tony Abbott. And how can he provide that? By ripping up the NBN.

The ‘conspiracy theory’ the left have been running with since this article was posted on Independent Australia no longer looks like a conspiracy. It looks like a plan to me. I’d urge you to visit the article and read the article it is linked to. It all gels now that Rupert has revealed his hand.

Why would Murdoch want to rip up the NBN?

Anyway, the Libs won't rip up the NBN. They just won't connect it to households - good economics, innit. Thrifty.

Abbott a puppet of vested interests ?

No kidding.

Congo-liners, the sooner you realise big business does not give a stuff about you, it only cares about your wallet, the better off you will be.

personally I think the exact opposite.... this THING has to be paid for they have over 1000 employees to feed just for starters.. I think they will make it compulsory for every labor and greens voter to join up..thats just for starters...if they dont connect you and i are still paying for it..even though swanny somehow circumvented it appearing to be taxpayer funded... we all know different dont we?..

can we assume we are borrowing money to pay for this thing?

Its actually quite credible given Murdoch realizes the way to save his business is via iPads and mobility.  He's just a dumbass who doesnt realize that fibre wont stop the growth of mobile devices.  Because with age he has become epically delusional.

I like Forrest, gates and buffett.

I don't like murdoch because he is a greedy power hungry delusional maniac who uses propaganda to get his way.

Nothing to do with him being white, and the bigger bigot is yOU as I'm sure if he wa black you'd be the first to whine like a laughing hyena.  And I'd still call him a greedy power hungry delusional maniac.

I dislike Murdoch because he has never been elected to any political office, yet uses his wealth and power to make or break governments.

It has nothing to do with his cash, but the way he uses it. I don't consider him successful, like most men driven by power and money his personal life is a dung heap.

I care nothing for his sex or colour.

All boxes unticked, I think.

People buy his newspapers of their own volition. He doesn't force people to read them. Anyone with an internet connection has access to a plethora of alternative media.

I don't like to nurse people who by all standards should have the capabilities afforded to them by our education system and society.  Less watching prime time TV and more schooling next time, and perhaps you'll get better comprehension skills. :)

You haven't connected your label of bigot to my original statement in any logical way.

The black man thing is a strawman.

Try again.

Once again, I won't be nursing you. It's clearly all there. Now work it out on your own.

I'll give you a hint: it's all in the definition, and then inference from the definition :)

An argument involves a proposition, or a series of propositions, that are then attempted to be validated by a line of reasoning or evidence. Unfortunately, your claim of bigot had no justification. Moreover, there was no display of intolerance by myself in the statement under consideration. Therefore, any claim to bigotry was a either a strawman or a Red Herring.

Run along now.

nice attempt, and yet clearly wrong.  :(

the hint to look at the definition remains :)  How many strikes would you like?

A counter-argument includes drawing out the claims and assertions made by your interlocutor and then pointing out potential flaws in those claims and assertions.

You don't seem to be very good at this.

strike two.

One more, Misty :) Come on - reflect on your school days and work out what I mean by "it's in the definition." :) It really isn't that difficult :)

When making claims, or counter-claims, they need to be as clear and precise as possible. The onus is on the writer, and not the reader, to communicate their thoughts in the clearest possible manner. If the reader has issues with fathoming your content, then more often than not, it is the writer's fault, and not the reader's. (In academia, there is a 100% onus on the writer to communicate their ideas effectively, but given that you obviously dropped out of school when you were about 15 or 16, I'll allow you some leeway here).

Did you read that from one of the assessment sheets you found on the floor while mopping? Good on you!! :)

You will also know that when forming a debate, the level of explanation depends on the audience. I'm sorry I over assessed your comprehension skills.  Next time I'll review songs from Sesame Street and try to put my comments into a similar style, for your easy reading :)

And that's strike 3. Have a nice night :)

This has been a comforting exchange. It has reaffirmed my belief that left-wing trendy types have little to no understanding of logical processes or lines of reasoning, nay, the basic mechanics of debate.

It's another clear case where slogans that occupy their mind have clouded their ability to analyse and think through a line of reasoning to its consequences.

This exchange was a classic case of where moralising was presumed to be the ultimate arbiter on right and wrong. Moral feeling and slogans, however, are no match for analytical thinking. Once asked to explain the usage for the term 'bigot', alevine got caught out. He hadn't thought his slogan through to its consequences; not only that, he didn't even think one step ahead beyond the slogan. But let's not blame poor alevine here. Let's blame his 'intellectual' masters who have taught him words like 'bigot', 'fascist', 'sexist', 'racist' and the like are the be-all and end-all of discussion. His masters, being emotionally unstable and therefore unable to engage in cool, calm analytical reasoning, do not foresee that such base catchwords cannot stand up to rigorous analysis. Alevine, being an unthinking brute like his idols, falls into the same problems.

Murdoch loves backing winners. That's why he hitched himself to the Blair bandwagon and why he is supporting Abbott.

When a Labor leader eventually looks likely to form a government, Murdoch will switch sides. He is the ultimate political chameleon.
