I don't blame the Hispanics. Would you want your family to live in Mexico? Funny, Mexico want to attract US retirees. They'll have to take all their guns with them.

Obama needs to push through harder on gun control on schismatics and libertarians to prevent more violence and he needs to get even more aggressive on chasing down corporate tax evasion...

Obama has major tasks winding back militarism, establishing gun control, healthcare, chasing corporate tax evaders, cracking down on tax haven countries and rebuilding his countries industries, economic base and jobs...

Obama is comparable to Rudd in many ways, they are good at making speeches but bad on delivery.

Obama looks like an OK leader but the Democrats that look useless and this latest IRS profiling issue shows how hypocritical they are.

In Australian politics Gough is a better match, he was also surrounded by fools that destroyed whatever credibility he had, except even the democrats are no where near as incompetent as Gough's team was.

There are many things about US politics that you can not easily understand, it is a very complex many headed beast.

For starters many Obama supporters and critics like to call him a great socialist or even more extreme calling him a communist when most of his platform is much like Bush's even the stuff he claimed he was going change was either a lie or a failure.

US politics are about 1 km (metric) to the right of our politics.

Even on the daily show (a democrat biased show) they admired Howard for him introducing his gun law reforms.

What they call socially progressive in the US we have either done decades ago here (Obama care) or is just whatever in this country.

Obama had the same pointless knee jerk reaction Howard did after the Bryant day out except Howard was not fighting an institutionalised NRA type organisation. A simple metric about the Us even I find frightening is that there are more guns then people in the US .... that is just not right. Obama had to be seen doing something and even the mild background changes failed to get through, imagine trying to convince a Texan about our laws.

He is more entertainer than an effective President, he might be remembered well but his term was plagued with lack of achievement.

quite true,  i read a few books on the charisma of JFK but the fact that both LBJ and nixon were probably more effective in advancing a lot of the lefts causes.  if you read mike moores book on bill clinton, bill was probably the biggest friend of wall street ever.  a confused system, paralysed by too much local interest.  most of the senators couldnt vote to reduce military spending (funded by chinese borrowing   ;) ;)) as the military is the biggest employer in many states.

Its interesting that the US is recognised as the real home of democracy, the Greeks may have thought up the idea but the US have done all the donkey work, yet their system of government is so inefficient and ineffective....... it seems to be just getting worse.
