Title: "You're not in Australia now."
Post by Sprintcyclist on May 30th, 2013 at 12:47pm

Quote:
THE message from the young men was blunt: "You're not in Australia now."
They weren't standing on a street in Iraq, Afghanistan or Lebanon. This is Bankstown.
It is a safe suburban street surrounded by family homes but there are fears areas just like this are in danger of being turned into ghettos by young men - usually born in Australia to Lebanese parents - who are cannon fodder for hardline Muslim preachers. They are part of generation jihad.
A recent two-year federal parliamentary inquiry into multiculturalism was swamped by concerns about the rising influence of Islam in Australia and fears that organisations such as Hizb ut-Tahrir and conservative imams were "promoting the radicalisation of second-generation Muslim youth and voluntary social exclusion".
"This was thought to support the formation of Muslim-only enclaves, leading to long-term problems such as unemployment," said the report, released in March.

An Islamic women's group told of the influence of alarming conservatism that was even demanding gender segregation at weddings "within parts of the Lebanese community in Sydney".
The same characters and organisations keep popping up to attract young acolytes.Like the radical political Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir, Sheik Feiz Mohammed, the Global Islamic Youth Centre at Liverpool, Auburn's Bukhari House Bookshop and prayer hall, of which Feiz Mohammed is a director.
Head of the Middle Eastern Crime Squad, Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace, said even convicted murderer Bassam Hamzy, founder of the Muslim gang Brothers for Life, had achieved an almost mythical status from behind bars.
So far intelligence agencies have stayed one step ahead of the terrorism threat.
Milad bin Ahmad-Shah al-Ahmadzai, 23, has been under surveillance by counter-terrorism police since he was 19 and this week was arrested for allegedly threatening to "slit the throat" of an officer, a court heard on Tuesday.
Al-Ahmadzai, Sydney born and bred although he has identified himself as "ethnic Pashtun from Afghanistan", has also previously been pinpointed as a threat to soldiers on Australian soil.
Community leaders talk about how the young people are not just influenced by what's happening locally but what is happening overseas.
ASIO director-general David Irvine has warned of a dramatic increase in the number of young ethnic men travelling to take part in the Syrian war. "We are talking in the hundreds and not the tens," Mr Irvine has said.
Community leader Dr Jamal Rifi has seen them come back.
"When they come back they are radicalised," Dr Rifi said. "They look on people with a high moral ground, 'I went there and I fought for these causes, blah blah blah'."
The Syrian conflict has spilled over into violence in Bankstown where a gang of Sunni Muslim men have been accused of extorting businesses owned by Shia men in retaliation for the Shia supporting Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.
Hizb ut-Tahrir's Australian leader recently called on the country to become an Islamic state ruled by Islamic law and for a boycott of Anzac Day.Spokesman Uthman Badar, 28, denied the movement was extreme and said the Muslim community was being demonised in Australia.
"There is a ridiculous amount of surveillance by ASIO and tapping of phones. You are further alienating these people," Mr Badar said yesterday. In Islamic book stores, in cafes across western and southwestern Sydney and in each other's homes, these are the sorts of "leaders" looked up to by the disaffected young men as they talk about how badly life treats Muslims.
Add unemployment to the mix.

At least they live in their own ghettos and not with the humans.

Bankstown is nothing more than a target rich environment if those camel jockeys decide to get out of hand.

Islams need to get out of our country if they don't like it. Go back to where they come from.
If you live in Australia, you live by Australian laws, we ain't gonna make special privileges for them.

You don't sound like an authentic Aboriginal person

Where are your ancestors from?

Do you follow the original Indigenous laws that were here before the British invaded and began killing aboriginals and stealing their land and their children?

A zebra went to heaven. When he saw St. Peter he asked him "You know, I have always wondered, am I a white horse with black stripes or a black horse with white stripes?" St. Peter said he would have to ask God that question since he's the one that made him.

So the zebra asked God, "God, am I a white horse with black stripes or a black horse with white stripes?"
God answered, "You are what you are."

The zebra left and came upon St. Peter and told him,
"Well I asked God if I was a white horse with black stripes or a black horse with white stripes..."
"What was the answer," St. Peter asked.

"Well I still don't know. All He said was: 'You are what you are."'

"Well that answers it," Said St. Peter. "You're a white horse with black stripes."

"How do you know that?" asked the zebra.

"Well if you were a black horse with white stripes He would have said: "You is what you is".

Lived, worked and driven Sydney aeons ago. Had flat in St. Peter's and fed a stamping plant with a wide-mouthed shovel at Austral Bricks in my teens. P1ssed on my hands to heal blisters. 16yo and no car - far away from home.

Had a barmaid girlfiend at the Ashfield Tavern before Milperra. Done Paramatta Road from Central Station to Church Street in 14 mins.

Ran a Kawasaki 900 from my flat's garage, opposite Western Suburbs Leagues Club on Liverpool Road.

Been there, done that.

You miss the point.

Some of those experiences are limited by the use-by date - they're no longer applicable.

The Bankstown you know, ain't necessarily the Bankstown I knew.

If I were to ever walk back through Ashfield, after all these years, I have no doubt that I would feel alienated.

After 40 years, I can sill return to the town of my childhood and still be recognised.

Australia is the ONLY commonwealth invaded country that doesn't have a treaty with its original inhabitants

In fact, the British classified this land as un-occupied by humans (Terra Nallius). What a convenient tool of fascism and racism bestowed upon the indigenous peoples of Australia - peoples that were the FIRST to migrate OUT of Africa over 100,000 years ago. THey moved across the Indian main land and down through Asia to eventually reach Australia and settle.

THe Australian Aboriginal people were the first explorers out of Africa

And you claim that your criminal ancestors who were essentially sent here as prisoners to do hard labour, ride side by side with the original owners of this land?

yeah right

And the point of your homily is, Lionel?   ::)

We all know that the Australia of even 10 years ago is a different country and as L.P.Hartley pointed out, "they do things differently there."

So why do you decry the passing of the past, Lionel?   ::)

A propos 'you are not in Australia, pilgrim':

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Mina is a town near Mecca, where pilgrims sleep in tents and stone three pillars, representing the satan, with seven pebbles, on the last day of Hajj. The Saudi government has built thousand of air-conditioned tents to accommodate pilgrims, during this ritual.

A known female community leader said that when the local group entered Tent Section 40, an area designated for American, European and Australian Muslims, a pilgrim in the group was asked about his sect, by a member of another group.

"When he said he was Shi'a, they called him Kafir (infidel) and attacked him," said the woman, who did not want her name to be revealed, for safety concerns, until she leaves Saudi Arabia next week.

The attackers, who are Australians of Lebanese descent, then hit three other men in the group and dragged one into a tent, while choking and kicking him.

"They took him into a woman's tent and had him in a chokehold. They were choking him out. When our guys got to him, he was blue," she said.

The attackers threatened the pilgrims to leave the tent area, while bringing up historic sectarian references.

"We will kill you Shi'a men and rape your women," they shouted, according to the source.

The source said security officers at the tent area were aware of the attack, but stood by and did not do anything to stop it.

The pilgrims left the tent area from the emergency exits and waited about an hour for their buses to arrive and drive them back to the hotel, which was 15 minutes away.

"We were terrified. When you have someone threatening your life and threatening to rape your women and having the audacity to make such remarks and walk into your tent, you take those threats seriously," said the female community leader.

Police came to the scene, after the group had gotten out to the main road, cooperated with the pilgrims' guide and promised to get them justice. However, police officers deleted video recordings of the attack from the pilgrims' phones.

The local group returned to Mina, without police assistance, on Thursday, Oct. 17, to complete the ritual and stone the pillars that represent the satan.

They were required to spend Thursday night praying in Mina, but since they feared for their lives, they will seek a religious accommodation for being unable to complete that ritual.

Yeah, the weather will no longer be fine.

You girls are worried about few muslims fighting in another country while our local non muslims start bushfires and loot homes after the fires.

Quote:

I know that many people in this 'modern' age would suppose, that the OT laws [of Moses] were 'vicious' and 'barbaric' laws.

They are often portrayed in that way, by many people today.

But having read and become a little familiar with those OT [criminal] laws, i would have to say that yes, although those laws [OT laws of Moses relating to strictly criminal matters] were sometimes very harsh to criminals, yet i believe that those O.T. laws do teach man [would instil in men] a propensity for ethical behaviour.

And personally, i would be happy to live in a society where those were laws were 'imposed' on the society, because i know [that is, i believe] that such a society, would be a safe and decent place to live [for honest, and non-violent people].

e.g.

Deuteronomy 19:15
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
16  If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;
17  Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
18  And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;
19  Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
20  And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
21  And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Deuteronomy 4:1
Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
2  Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
3  Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
4  But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.
5  Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
6  Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
7  For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
8  And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

When have you shown peace and tolerance?

Lots, and lots of times.

But if i were to openly tolerate wickedness, that would indicate that i was [had become] a wicked person.

Goodness, becoming tolerant of wickedness....

Quote:
.....if we join what is precious with what is vile, we do not in that act, 'improve' that which is vile.
We merely corrupt that which is precious.

e.g.
I have two buckets.
The first bucket is full of clean, fresh water.
The second bucket is full of sewage.

Q.
If i pour both buckets into a third container, what do i get?

A.
A third container, full of diluted sewage.

Conclusion?
While i could safely drink from the 1st bucket, i could *not* safely drink from the 2nd bucket, or the 3rd container.
So it is with evil, that is 'tolerated' by good people.
No matter how many times we repeat the phrase, "Tolerance is good.",
...our tolerance of what is clearly evil, is not a virtue.
It is a process, a progression.
Whenever we choose to become tolerant of evil [in our midst], it is certain, as night follows day, that we ourselves, will become evil.
i.e.
If we are tolerant of what is clearly evil, it is because we now ARE evil.

When we embrace the concept of 'tolerance', but what we are prepared to tolerate is clearly evil,
...we become those, who are evil, OURSELVES.

Our 'tolerance' of evil, is not tolerance.
It is wickedness!

Quote:

Think about this,
If we tolerate evil, and wickedness, in our midst,
...we, ourselves, will become those, who are evil.

And tolerance of evil, is not 'tolerance'.

It is wickedness!

And today people just don't get that truth.

In fact most people will strenuously deny that logic.

No matter how many times we repeat the phrase, "Tolerance is desirable, and good, and peaceable.",
...our tolerance of what is clearly evil, is not a virtue.

Whenever we choose to be tolerant of evil [in our midst], it is certain, as night follows day, that we ourselves, will become evil.

Our 'tolerance' of evil, merely reveals the wickedness which is ALREADY within us!

And if you are a person who is "tolerant" of evil behaviour, DON'T KID YOURSELF,
...God hates you.

"Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them."
Karl Popper

"Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil."

Australia is one big Crime Scene - police tape circumnavigates this continent, with a separate tape for Tasmania. All crime scenes

all non indigenous people within this crime scene are invading thieves and murder accomplices who cannot point to a proper and just treaty in order to live here with integrity and honesty

Everything else discussed in this putrid foul smelling thread topic is totally null and void.

Over the intercom Nurse Ratchette  announces in a relaxed voice- medication time... medication time! (violins fill the ward). Chimp Logic is in the corner  busily painting himself with his own poo.

Both you boys don't know sh11t!

Either of you ever owned an EH wagon or a HR panelvan?

Or is that reference to a time and social conscience irrelevant?

Your references to Deep South American atrocities have no relevance to anything in this country. You seem to be flat-out having your own connection.

Have a look at Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit" :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4ZyuULy9zs

Ignorance, nor withholding, is no excuse.

Ever heard the expression, "You don't what you've had 'til it's gone." Old song - current sentiment.

You make me laugh - next thing you know, children will be protected.
World-wide, that is!  8-) 8-)  8-)

How 'bout you let me know when my cynicism is ill-deserved?

Deal?

You're Not In Australia Now was something I was told by the father of an Italian girl I was going out with once...  he was right, after passing the front gate I was in Italy.

It is not something rare in our multiculti burdened country.  I know of many such instances.

Sorry, you can't say that here.  You can only say that sort of thing in the Multiculturalism forum.   Here is where we expose the extremism of people like yourself.   Sorry, wrong forum.  Move along now!  Move along!   :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D
