We can no longer ride the minerals and resources wave. We have to work out new ways of making a buck and Kev reckons we have to be a country that makes things !! A bit late now Kev !! The opportunities are well and truly gone :(

And it's a good thing that we have missed the manufacturing wave. Our focus should be on generating 'internal' wealth. As the measure of a country's wealth is in the quality of its housing, its health system, transport & affordability of prices. The GDP or the personal net worth are misleading, as indicators of wealth. Industrialization and agricultural exports only increase the wealth of particular individuals and classes. Rudd has no better idea of how to run the country than did Gillard or will, Abbott. We have to chuck Aussie out and put Australians in, before it's too late.
