Now the Conservatives want to hand taxpayers money in the form of bonuses to public servants for simply doing their jobs.

After spending somewhere in the vicinity of $50,000 to train up a temporary docs worker, some bureaucrat came up with the idea of terminating temp positions as a way of delivering cost savings to the immediate budget. While the community lives with the tragic consequences and future governments carry the costs of repairing the damage, the current government gets to sprout it's economic bona fides. I guess this is the sort of work that will demand a bonus.

no one ever seem to pay for the HUGE blunders that we end up paying for has anyone noticed..

just this week we learn that the boat people policy has blown out by $1bn..in 12 mon ths..

no kidding????.. so who got that wrong??? Mr Swan where are you????..

someone got something bloody wrong..yet they are still there picking up a huge pay..believe it or not some of our top P.S. get more pay than the PM...we are mad stark raving mad...we are top heavy with bureaucrats. and pollies.. for a country of this size.[read pop]

and still they cant get it right.... I wont bother mentioning.. consultants...and people like Tim Flannery..all on our payroll.
