Title: ALP slides again
Post by salad in on Jul 29th, 2013 at 4:51pm
Fresh from enjoying a boost in the Galaxy poll, the ALP drops down again in the Essential poll.

Quote:
2 Party Preferred

23/7/2013 ALP 49%, Lib-NP 51%
29/7/2013 ALP 49%, Lib-NP 51%

Actually they didnt drop at all, but thanks for the misleading quote.

From last week to this week the ALP was stagnant on 39%, the Coalition dropped one point to 44% and the greens increased two points while independants dropped one.

In the two party preferred stakes the result is the SAME as last week.  It didnt slide at all.  It didnt increase at all.  In the 2pp it did nothing.

Why are you comparing an increase in one poll to a decrease in another.

Its a flawed comparison.  You should compare poll company with its own polls as they are the true reflection on whether they have indicated a slide.

All it does when you compare results from one to another is have people question which one is a truer reflection on voters habits.

Galaxy up and essiential showing the same doesnt say anything.

and you wrote "the ALP drops down again in the Essential poll".  Well, you tell me how to READ that, because its easy to say in reply, it didnt.

Salad is just showing how fearful the conga line are now. A month ago they had it in the bag, now it looks like another draw, at best, which probably means another three years of Labor given the GREENS and independents would support Labor again over an Abbott led coalition.
The coalitions best chance would be to dump Abbott, if they don't they deserve to stay in the wilderness, a lesson they need to learn.

Greens? Bandt is gone, Labor will win with Liberal preferences.

Independents? Which ones? Lyne and New England will both go to the Nationals.

I wouldn't complain too much.  If it were Greens_lose posting the heading would say, 'LNP trounced, Greens preparing for government'

what independents, fool?  Oakeshott and Windsor are not standing and will revert to Coalition hands (unless you think labor will miraculously jump from 8% to a winning position).  Bandt will most likely lose and be replaced by labor.  That leaves just Wilkie to consider.

Skippy, you have no idea how bloody funny that would be.  Abbott has, not too long ago, physically threatened Clive who brushed him aside like a waif.  Clive would be delirious if Abbott had to come begging, and there is no way he will forget or forgive either Abbott or the LNP.

Oooooh, how delicious is that prospect!

What the polls are showing is the Rudd sugar rush looks over, they have flatlined and will need to boost their primary by a few % points to be a clear winner, everyone is forgetting that 2010 was a draw which means the ALP have to trend higher that 2010 to win.

A day is along time in Politics, let alone a week.

We all have to rely on the form guide.

Now Kevvy is rattling along quite nicely right now.

He has rolled the dice big time on the New Guinea gambit. For the first time ever, I think his planners have come up with something that could work, could make him a hero. He could realistically have stopped the boats, given a few weeks.

Then he will definitely win the Election because the average punter is sick to death of boat loads of freeloaders turning up then having to support them for the rest of their lives.

But there is a big bloody question mark over the PNG plan. It is like an unstable stick of dynamite. This could turn sour, it very much depends on how well the people smugglers are selling the package in Indonesia.

Apparently they are filling the boats at the moment with stories that the PNG thing won't fly and they will be good as apples.

The whole PNG thing could very well turn out to be a basket of rotten apples for Kevvy.

If it is, he is history.

Katter will be lucky to get three votes outside of QLD.  Palmer wont even get that much.  it is highly unlikely that either party will win a seat in the lower house other than Katter himself.  The senate is a different situation where we have already seen Family First win a seat on 2% of the vote.

but do you have actual evidence obtained without masturbating to contradict that?

I was just about to type that Katter is not stupid before remembering that Katter is not only stupid but also insane.  That notwithstanding, Katter will not support a labor govt over a coalition one.  he has seen what doing that has done to Windsor and oakeshoot and how their electorates turned on them savagely.

But so does the coalition, they have to trend higher too and on current polls they are not. The conga line seem to think phoney tony can pull the same numbers against Rudd he did against Gillard, yet every poll says there is no way of that happening. You're best off continuing to sit in a circle having a group wank and singing koombaha.

Don't bother. I was dealing with raw polling rather than delving into the minutiae of seats, trends, preferences etc.

what independents, fool?  Oakeshott and Windsor are not standing and will revert to Coalition hands (unless you think labor will miraculously jump from 8% to a winning position).  Bandt will most likely lose and be replaced by labor.  That leaves just Wilkie to consider.

1 point slides are within margin of error. As it stands today, this election is TOO CLOSE TO CALL.

One can dispute the independent votes for New England and Lynne, and sure as it stands these will go to the Nationals, but the polls suggest swings accross the board, meaning that marginals will shift between Labor and Liberals. And as they shift, it's currently TOO CLOSE TO CALL.

As for you longie, you're a disgrace mate.  Palmer is crazy, and yet you're very eager to vote for Tony. The difference being what, one doesn't have the money to build a Titanic replica but the other does?  Tony would put it to good use - he'd STOP THE BOATS with his Titanic replica. The wanker.

If you take the time to READ what I said I compared the Essential result with that of Galaxy.

Why are you comparing an increase in one poll to a decrease in another.

Its a flawed comparison.

Galaxy up and essiential showing the same doesnt say anything.

Why not revoke your other citizenship and vote when you’re here, Andrei?

You’re loyal to this country, remember?

I'm loyal to both my nations. I'm as loyal to Australia as you people.

However I want to vote in the UK General Election thanks.

You are nowhere near as loyal to Australia as I am for many reasons, not the least of which is that I do not confuse myself trying to serve two National Masters.

And when Australia plays England?

In sport I cheer for England or Great Britain.

Otherwise Great Britain and Australia are in sync.

There are hundreds of thousands in Australia who are loyal to both Australia but also to Great Britain like I am.
Majority of us support the Monarchy system too.

Because you can't cheer for both sides, I grew up and have spent the majority of my life in England.

Fresh from enjoying a boost in the Galaxy poll, the ALP drops down again in the Essential poll.

[quote]
2 Party Preferred

23/7/2013 ALP 49%, Lib-NP 51%
29/7/2013 ALP 49%, Lib-NP 51%

http://essentialvision.com.au/category/essentialreport

Actually they didnt drop at all, but thanks for the misleading quote.

From last week to this week the ALP was stagnant on 39%, the Coalition dropped one point to 44% and the greens increased two points while independants dropped one.

In the two party preferred stakes the result is the SAME as last week.  It didnt slide at all.  It didnt increase at all.  In the 2pp it did nothing.

If you take the time to READ what I said I compared the Essential result with that of Galaxy.

... and is Freda aware of the on-line "polling" METHOD practiced by Essential Research, compared to the industry standard used by Newspoll, Galaxy and  Nielsen - and their records, juxtaposed with election outcomes ?

The wanker.

palmer is a lunatic in the established QLD mold.  But in case you are unaware,  palmer and Abbott are NOT in the same party so your silly complaint means what exactly?

I don't think you have the foggiest idea what loyalty means.  I don't think you are really loyal to either country or anyone outside your family.

That you won't vote for Palmer as he is a lunatic...yet...you'll vote for Tony.

Aside from the party, the difference is...?

49% are going to vote for Rudd-Labor?

LOL

Fools!

Obviously listen to ABC and FM radio, watch Left brainwashing tv shows, read the Left media and believe everything the Canberra press gallery tell them.  :)

Won't they get a rude shock.

Well according to the polls 39% of the population will.
I think its 44% for the coalition.

Neither party will get over 50% of the population vote for them anyway.

Thanks for playing along.
