Not to mention the NSW Government has convicted drug felon, Tanya Plibersek's husband on the payroll.
He should be banned from such a position for life. |

NSW finance minister Greg Pearce has been sacked by Premier Barry O'Farrell.
Mr O'Farrell called a press conference at 2:45pm after further inquiries related to the minister's conduct by The Daily Telegraph. The Daily Telegraph had been inquiring into appointments Mr Pearce has made to a government board. Mr O"Farrell said: "Following a media enquiry today, it became clear that Mr Pearce had failed to disclose to the Prmeier a conflict of interest in relation to a board appointment. "This afternoon I spoike to Mr Peare and informed him he would not longer remain on the frontbench. "I mean it when I say I expect the highest standards from members of my government." The sacking comes after inquiries from The Daily Telegraph over Mr Pearce appointing his wife's boss to the Sydney Water board. Mr O'Farrell described Mr Pearce's actions as a "clear breach of the ministerial code of conduct". The sacking comes after The Daily Telegraph inquired as to why Mr Pearce's wife's boss at Sydney University had been appointed to the Sydney WAter board. Richard Fisher is general counsel of Sydney University and Mr Pearces wife Shauna Jarrett is his assistant group secretary. "I made clear what I was proposing to do. Mr Pearce was clearly disappointed and unhappy and accepted my decision," the Premier said. --------------- Notice that it wasn't for misusing his travel allowance.... :) |

I'm surprised he could FIND him ! FINANCE Minister Greg Pearce has spent two months of his two years in the job away from home on the taxpayer -including 18 weekends away, many of them with his wife. The minister, who is on the government's razor gang responsible for tough spending cuts, has spent more than $22,000 on 39 domestic away trips involving 56 nights' accommodation, documents released under freedom of information laws to The Daily Telegraph reveal. Mr Pearce, who is also the Minister for the Illawarra and in charge of Hunter Water, often makes announcements or schedules meetings on Friday or Saturday in Wollongong or other regional areas then stays the weekend, often with his wife. Wollongong is just 90 minutes from Sydney - close enough for many to commute - and Newcastle just two hours away. |

Title: Re: NSW Finance Minister gets the boot Post by Verge on Aug 2nd, 2013 at 3:55pm
Hey Andre, nice of you to throw mud at Tanya's husband, but he sounds like someone who turned his life around and made something of himself;
In 1986, at the age of 21, he was imprisoned for less than three years of a nine-year sentence for conspiracy to import narcotics. At the time he was a heroin user. He recovered from his addiction through a Salvation Army program. I think its pretty average to throw morality questions at a woman because he husband did the wrong, owned it, served his punishment then proceeded to right his wrongs, all of which happened 27 years ago. It is also something Coutts-Trotter has never hid, denied or tried to blame on anyone else. He is also someone who the Liberal Party also saw good things in and have kept on board during their term in government. If the best you have on someone is what they did 27 years ago, then you are about stuffed in the credibility stakes. |

Hahahaha, poor Cods. He was sacked today, in 2013, for an appointment he made in 2011. Now why was he only sacked now, some two years after the appointment, because the Telegraph ran a story on it bringing it to light. So the Frog is right, he was only sacked after it coming to light from a newspaper. You really should read things in a bit more detail, you look a bit silly. |
