How many coconuts do they have left on the island to go around for the new migrants? And I'm talking about the things that grown on trees, not the other kind.

Yes - and Abbott wants to do exactly the same thing. Abbott wants to build a tent city on Nauru for about the same number of people. The Coalition plan announced this week - with 2000 places for asylum seekers in a ''tent city'' on Nauru and potentially as many as 5000 http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/federal-election-2013/abbott-plan-could-reap-windfall-for-nauru-20130801-2r2a8.html#ixzz2bDtQk0Dj Both parties are equally mad. Have you ever been to Nauru Maqqa? I'm not sure Tony Abbott ever has: ''Nauru is by no means an unpleasant place to live.'' http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/federal-election-2013/coalitions-nauru-plan-childish-burke-20130730-2qvkw.html#ixzz2bDtpWpXY It may be bearable for a week in the Menen Hotel so long as the beer is cold, but it would not be very "pleasant" at all on the central plateau in a tent THis is a country with zero natural resources. Every single piece of food, building material etc etc etc will be coming from Australia. How the 2 major parties think they will pay for the onging support of 5000 people on a small rock in the middle of the Pacific is beyond me. |
