Title: A silly report?
Post by alevine on Aug 15th, 2013 at 1:53pm
The climate institute report was based on modeling from Monash University.  Is Greg hunt suggesting the modeling by a university is silly?  Sounds like he's the partisan hack.

Poor bloke, having to drive the tony wankjob "policy" thought bubble.

I run training courses in modelling. Trust me, you'd be surprised at just how inaccurate and how inexperienced a lot of modellers can be.  Being modelled by a university can also be code for 'modelling by a student' or 'modelling by an academic who couldn't et a real job'.  It could also be a brilliant scientist; just don't discard the first two options.

Not everything produced by a university is on the up and up.

Unis open to students who fail English

MORE than a third of overseas students are completing their degrees at Australian universities with English so poor that they should not have been admitted to tertiary study in the first place.

The results of a study by the demographer Bob Birrell confirm widespread concerns expressed by academics over the past decade that the Federal Government's focus on drawing fee-paying students from overseas has led to a collapse in university academic standards.
