US city now persecutes Christian business owners

San Antonio Bars Christian Businesses From Doing Business With City
Christian persecution is escalating in America and it’s being conducted by local, state and federal governments. The latest example of Christian persecution can be found in the recent actions taken by the San Antonio City Council. By an 8-3 vote, the city council passed an anti-discrimination ordinance. The ordinance was designed to protect the rights of homosexuals against discrimination, but in fact it gives them special rights while taking away the rights of Christians. Incorporated in the ordinance is a provision that states if a business owner takes a faith-based stance against homosexual life styles it will be barred from doing business with the City of San Antonio. In other words, if you are a Christian business owner who practices your faith in your business, you will not be allowed to conduct any of your business with the city. Thus, their anti-discrimination ordinance discriminates against Christians.

So if i am a Christian business owner, and i reveal that i choose not to employ an overtly homosexual person......i am not allowed to do business within the San Antonio jurisdiction ?

Got it in one, Yadda, well done!

Personally I think they're right to do that.  Why should your faith or anybody else's allow you to persecute homosexuals?   So, not only an Islamophobe but a Homophobe as well?   Looks like you need a lot of extra time on the couch!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm still trying to work out what this has to do with christians. I'm pretty sure its discriminating against any homophobe - and rightly so.

According to Yadda, discriminating against homosexuals is an article of the christian faith, and not being allowed to do it is a flagrant violation of freedom of worship. To everyone else (including most christians), it is simple bigotry that needs to be stamped out.

But of course Yadda is all about homosexual rights - he spent most of the last year telling us to google the horrendous treatment of LGBTs in Malaysia.

Yadda, as always, you utilise a strange definition of "persecution" to try and make your extreme case.  This is more a case of discrimination, not "persecution".  However, it is not just against Christians as far as I can tell, its against anyone, no matter what their religion, which promotes discrimination against Homosexuals.  So you should be happy, as many Muslims do that as well as many Christians - its one of the things both groups of religious fundamentalists share in common.   ::)

I think that the nutty Christian extremists have gone out on a limb here. Muslims don't usually ask about your sexual preference.

Why can't Christian bosses just make a rule about no talk of sexual stuff in the workplace at all? Why are they investigating people's sexual preferences?

It is a stupid law, but the Christians have brought it on themselves by investigating people's sexual preferences in the first place.
