Title: Abbott Denied Honeymoon by Media Post by PZ547 on Sep 18th, 2013 at 8:25am
He hasn't even been sworn-in yet and the media is dishing it to Abbott with both fists, non-stop
So much for those who tried to claim the media was soft on Abbott The media was never soft on Abbott. It was a lie put out by the media and its grubby love-child, Labor Now we see the truth. Hit Abbott and hit him hard, demand media bosses Just goes to show how truly PIZZED OFF media magnates are about the fact its new-world-order slugs (Labor) lost Not even a honeymoon period for Abbott and the coalition despite the massively extended honeymoon granted Labor by the media throughout several years And the ABC is hammering the Libs simultaneous with the media -- whilst STILL covering for filthy Labor |

dont lets get into their tirade of BLAMING ev erything onto the media...its pathetic...its like this lot on here busting for Abbott to be assassinated...lol. just so they can crow about it...if thats the way the boards go then they can keep it..
theres a huge fuss about n ot enough women on the front bench who bloody cares.. if they were worthy I am sure they would be there...but to put someone on the front bench because of their sex.. is bizarre to say the least...and the day we go down that road.. we have lost the plot... I thought the Labor govt was bizarre enough...heaven save us from that crap all over again. |

i am only skimming through Google - but so far nothing of note against Abbott. And isn't the ABC Board still comprised of mainly John Howard's choices?
Could it be that too many promises were made that now can't be fulfilled? If so - he deserves the pineapple. there has already been one backflip on aboriginal funding, and that has been even before being sworn in Sorry mate, Libs called the shots, made the promises, made the predictions. if they can't deliver they deserve what they get |

Ruperts B!tch has had an easy run in the media for over three years and so far I see no change

Title: Re: Abbott Denied Honeymoon by Media Post by pansi1951 on Sep 18th, 2013 at 8:40am I told you they'd turn on him, didn't take long, did it? Did you guys think that old Rupert would stay faithful for longer than one week? Rupert was only supporting Abbott to get the best outcome for himself.....hardly a party faithful. |

Abbott Denied Honeymoon by Media
Have you any examples to back this up??? However even had this been true Abbott has still enjoyed a 4 year Honeymoon period from the media, they put him in power in order to do their bidding I very much doubt that they will undermine him at all. |

Abbott Denied Honeymoon by Media
The only reason I could see is that following the disgracefull performance of the Media the last 4 years they do badly need to restore some credibility to themselves. |
Title: Re: Abbott Denied Honeymoon by Media Post by True Colours on Sep 18th, 2013 at 8:59am
Why should there be a honeymoon?
There should be extra early scrutiny when Abbott threatens us with a double dissolution. |

Until the media demands to see real alternative climate change policy with a cost benefit analysis then they are giving Ruperts B!tch an easy run. Just scrapping the price on polluters and replacing it with an un funded plan to plant a few trees is rubbish and just shows how a foreign billionaire can control Australia's leaders for his own benefit. Having weak leaders who kowtow to the likes Rupert is not a good thing for this countries long term prosperity and growth. The voters did not vote for Tony Abbott a few weeks ago...they voted for Rupert Murdoch. |

Perhaps sacking Steve Bracks to make way for "old boy" Nick ( ... climate change is a plot by the communists for 'one world government') Minchin - as Consul-General to New York - wasn't the wisest choice as a FIRST ACT of the new Abbott Government ? |
Title: Re: Abbott Denied Honeymoon by Media Post by longweekend58 on Sep 18th, 2013 at 9:38am
This is a silly thread. there has scarcely been any criticism of Abbott which seems fair since he is only being sworn in this morning.

I think your outrageous claims would be the better for some proof. Show us, going back for the past four years, where Abbott was treated as savagely by the media as Gillard was. Show us some examples where the media hounded Abbott over any of several points where he was reluctant to explain. Show us where the media insisted on policy detail. Show us where the media asked for elaboration of a Coalition catch phrase or exposed some dog whistling. Of course you won't because you can't. |

In 2001 the world reacted with horror as it saw graphic film of the Taliban dynamiting the Buddhas of Bamiyan, two giant 6th-century statues of Buddha in central Afghanistan. Later the area's remaining archaeological treasures were included on the World Heritage List. In blowing up the statues, the Taliban provided a vivid illustration of its callousness and willingness to justify acts of irreversible cultural vandalism. Australians like to believe this sort of behaviour is confined to less civilised corners of the globe where democracy and due process are unknown. Yet Tony Abbott has now pledged to remove the world's tallest flowering forests from the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area in Australia. His plan for Tasmania states: ''The Coalition has never supported Labor's recent rushed and political World Heritage extension, which was put in place against the will of the Tasmanian people, and we will seek to have it removed.'' The extension is 170,000 hectares of forest and mountain wilderness that was added to the World Heritage Area in June, including the Mt Field National Park, the Great Western Tiers, and the Weld, Huon, Styx and Upper Florentine valleys. [b]The forests, measuring up to 100 metres tall, are important habitat for the Tasmanian devil, platypus and giant wedge-tailed eagle. If the Coalition wins the election and goes through with its promise, it will be the first time that a developed country has deliberately removed a property, or part of a property, from the World Heritage List. While many people will find it uncomfortable to draw parallels between the actions of the Taliban and Abbott's plan, they are essentially the same; the intention is the deliberate destruction of a site of ''outstanding universal value''. The parallel is all the more stark because large trees in Tasmania's forests have been dynamited by Forestry Tasmania - it saves time and money. Abbott has not revealed his mechanics for getting the 170,000 hectares of forest and mountain wilderness off the list. There is no process under the World Heritage Convention for undoing a boundary extension. A Coalition government would have to request the removal of the entire 1.6 million hectares of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and then resubmit it without the 170,000-hectare extension. The World Heritage Committee which oversees the list is unlikely to look favourably on such a plan. The Tasmanian World Heritage Area is near the top of the list of 1000 properties. No other site satisfies more than its four natural and three cultural criteria for inclusion on the list. Removing it in order to facilitate the destruction of part of it will be unprecedented. It undermines the core aim of the World Heritage Convention to permanently protect the world's greatest natural and cultural wonders. It will be met by howls of protest from committee members, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, and other nations which have greater respect for the Convention http://www.theage.com.au/comment/what-do-abbott-and-the-taliban-have-in-common-20130904-2t5cn.html |

I don't like any idle talk about assassinating a sitting Prime Minister either. I did not like it when the filthy grub Alan Jones was openly talking about drowning Gillard at sea in chaff bags and when Abbott was talking about targets on foreheads in Parliament. I don't care about political affiliation on this point, it's just wrong plain and simple. Quote:
Women (including sitting members of the Liberal party), numerous media outlets, etc, etc. Just because YOU don't care doesn't mean others don't. Quote:
The Coalition have a problem with women. Not the Liberals so much as the Nationals and LNP. Nine Nationals MPs and all are men. LNP are short of women as well. I don't believe in women being promoted due to gender, but we have to ask, where are the Coalition women? How many capable women are nominating for Coalition parties in winnable seats at grassroots level, and how many win preselection? Are the ratios similar? |
