If you know anything about ex prime minister Rudd doesn't get anything until he leaves parliament.

What I would like to see in place is when a Prime minister leaves parliament the one before him lose all his entitlements and all he has is his superannuation

The only reason for that is because Labor has had more PMs over recent years.

I see no reason for an ex PM to get any perks once they retire, other than a gold watch, shake of the hand and a super cheque.

I don't have a problem with the PM pension.  it is after all a rather important job and there is only ever a handful of them.

nothing wrong with them getting a nice pension, after all, they give up a lot of your privacy and family life for the service of your country.

I don't however think they should be paid an office, private secretary, com car, driver, free flights, and whatever other perks they get for the rest of their lives. Especially since most of them end up working on some board where they will make more money anyway. Why should we pay for their office or secretary?

Pollies including the PM should never get any more superannuation contributions or benefits than the average worker..we need to remember whose paying for this and it sure aint the pollies.

I would prefer to see our prime ministers renumerated in a similar monetary value to our top CEO's and when they leave they get nothing.

I wouldn't care if the same entitlements were handed to everyone equally and not just the chosen few.

Office, staff etc for pensioners, free travel card for life, same sweetheart deal on superannuation...

Oh - but I forgot - none of those had anything to do with the once-wonderful country going down the gurgler, so they don't deserve it.

Only peasants anyway - can't compare them to the Mandarins...   ;D
