Title: Bikies the idiots want to 'protect'
Post by Sprintcyclist on Nov 1st, 2013 at 8:47am

Quote:
Police in Queensland have received reports that members of a bikie gang will kill officers rather than be arrested under the State Government's tough new laws.

A spokesman from the Queensland Police Service (QPS) says officers are investigating unconfirmed, non-specific threats from the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

Members are said to be willing to take any step necessary to evade capture.

The Mongols recently boosted their numbers after the Finks joined their ranks.

The threat comes after the introduction of tough new bikie laws in Queensland which include no bail for members and associates of outlaw bikie clubs and extended prison terms.

Police Minister Jack Dempsey says he is aware police have received unconfirmed threats.

He says proper precautions are being taken as the safety of all police officers is a priority for the State Government.

He say police are dealing with criminals and thugs who use standover tactics on the community.

Police are on increased alert as they implement the government's bikie crackdown.

Yesterday part of the Brisbane police headquarters were evacuated when a suspicious device was discovered in a carpark.

Bomb squad officers used a robot to examine the device before declaring in "non-suspicious".

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) says all officers receive regular safety updates and are reminded regularly to take steps to ensure their personal safety at all times.

They say all information regarding officer safety is communicated to staff in a timely manner.

The threats from the Mongols do not target specific officers.

An alleged associate of the Finks bikie gang was arrested last night after Gold Coast police pulled over the man's car.

The 26-year-old is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on drug possession and supply charges.

Police say a search of the man's car found amphetamines, cannabis, scales and more than $14,500 in cash.

Oh I think a squad of armed and armored men are quite capable of arresting a bikie.  If not, it might be time to reconsider the recruitment criteria of the police force.

Does anyone know of any statistics of gang related crime in QLD?  I have had a brief look but could only find news articles on individual incidences.

Also, pretty much everyone agrees that outlaw gangs are bad, no one is defending them.  What people are defending is the erosion of basic human rights in the new laws that have been put forward, and the folly of some of the deterrents.

It will be interesting to see how they differentiate between 1 motor cycle club & another.

Quote:
Ulysses Club Inc.
We are a social club for motorcyclists over the age of 40. We are the largest organisation of this kind in Australia.
Membership

Membership of the Club is open to any person, subject to the National Committee approval, who has attained the age of 40 years and who holds a current motorcycle licence. Additionally, the spouse or regular partner of a member, who has also attained the age of 40 years may also be admitted as a member upon application.

There is only one kind of membership, full individual membership. Any type of bike is welcome.

Do LNP politicians know how to do ANYTHING other than Dog whistle?

Good propaganda, Comrade. We need to hide the fact that Newman has listed the specific bikie criminal organsiations and that Ulysses is not on that list. This will help us progressives in bringing down the evil Campbell Newman.

that is correct  of course if it doesnt affect us directly well it isnt doing any harm is it???..

its like giving pedestrians the right of way..everything no matter how big must grind to a halt for someone pushing a pram or whos on crutches..

likewise lets not deal with bikies because it could also infringe on a boy scout troupe..

if some things we try dont work... does that mean we give up trying?????..

what these gangs do or dont do.. is not published I wouldnt think..only if it becomes public by lets say another shooting. ::).

I doubt very much that any STate govt would be concerned about these gangs.. without good reason..

Sydney right now is classic..a shooting almost daily..and its all gang related...middle eastern gangs have grown in the last 10 years...and they are BIG trouble.if you dont recognise the extent of guns in the country now..mostly related to bikie gangs..then you havent been watching the daily news..

exactly.... its the same with cameras..

I say if you aint doing something wrong.. then whats your problem?..

if you scratch yourself..or are caught out with someone you aint married too.. the cops are not interested in you..

and the same goes for groups  that are out there enjoying themselves..

my son in law a copper also belongs to a group that just enjoy riding...4 wheel drive clubs are also a big thing... but if they were filling up the streets and intimidating others and gun running I am sure most would want something done about it..

Funny I thought we would need to promote it.

In fact if he had been I would've heard it & not posted the above.

But so far all I've heard on news reports are the words "Bikies" & "Motor Cycle Gangs".

True I haven't researched the issue as QLD has always been the Alabama of the southern Pacific, so nothing would surprise.

By all means go nuts for organised criminal bikie gangs, but these are veterans who like bikes.

The sound of gunfire has shattered an uneasy silence between two of Sydney's most notorious bikie gangs, with police fearing retribution over the drive-by shooting death of a man in Eastlakes on Monday night.

Detectives believe a long-running dispute between rivals gangs the Hells Angels and the Comanchero is behind the death of Tyrone Lee Slemnik, 37, who was fatally gunned down outside an apartment block just before 10pm.

At least six bullets from two pistols were fired from a dark sedan at Mr Slemnik as he stood with two friends outside the George Street property............

A MAN has died after being shot in the back as he walked to his car at a unit block in Sydney's west.
It comes just days after a double shooting in city's southwest left one man dead and another wounded.

The 27-year-old was shot in the driveway of the unit complex on Dunmore Street in Pendle Hill last night.

Paramedics performed CPR on the man and took him to Westmead Hospital, where he died.

Police say witnesses described the lone gunman as wearing a black hooded jumper, and that he was last seen walking towards Goodall Street.

Detectives from Holroyd Local Area Command, with the assistance of the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad are conducting the investigations.

They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

About midnight on Tuesday, two men were shot in a garage in Sydney's southwest.

One man, who was affiliated with the notorious Brothers 4 Life crime gang, died and the other suffered wounds to his leg and stomach.

Inspector Adam Phillips said it was not believed the shooting was a revenge attack for Tuesday's shooting, but police did not rule out gang links.

"We do have an open mind in relation to the investigation,'' he told reporters.

"But we do have a very specific line of inquiry which we're currently pursuing.''

Seven people, including three alleged associates of the Hells Angels, have been arrested following a series of drug raids in south-east Queensland.

Police from Taskforce Maxima today executed 22 search warrants in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and the Gold Coast as part of a special operation targeting drug trafficking.

They were joined by investigators from Operation Kilo Advantage, which began in June last year.

Police say eight of the properties targeted today were rented by members of the Hells Angels.
Among the property seized were three motorcycles, $30,000 in cash and four separate ounces of methylamphetamine.

Detectives say Hells Angels sergeant-at-arms Michael Spence and a club treasurer are among those who have been charged.

Two alleged Hells Angels associates, brothers Bruno and Nuno da Silva, are accused of running a drug trafficking operation from their locksmith business in East Brisbane.

One of their alleged dealers, Tri Chi La, has been released on bail after appearing in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Police do not believe he is a member of the Hells Angels.

Taskforce Maxima commander Detective Superintendent Mick Niland says they believe the da Silvas' operation had turned over about $2.5 million in drug sales since June last year.

Superintendent Niland praised the work of all officers involved.

"This has been a massive operation aimed at disrupting a key facet of the criminal activity undertaken by the Hells Angels - the supply and distribution of drugs across the city," he said.

"I'd like to acknowledge the fantastic work and dedication of all officers who have been involved in this operation for over a year.

"Operational activity such as this is just one way the Queensland Police Service is working tirelessly to disrupt, dismantle and eliminate criminal motorcycle gangs from Queensland."

At a media conference, Superintendent Niland was asked whether tough new mandatory jail terms of up to 25 years would apply to the people arrested today.

"We will give consideration to the new legislation but at this time, it’s still under investigation," he said.

If a group is added that the Qld people feel is unjustified, Newman can be voted out and the incumbent government can remove them from the list. Qld doesn't care much for bikies hence why no one cares about them being targeted.

Bikers needs to start off a advertising campain like NSW clubs and the miners did.

Present themselves as warm fuzzy folks who help the community and stimulate the economy, and hide the anti-social parts (eg as clubs did with pokies).

Just imagine..."Bikie gangs turned over 50 million (in drugs) last year, stiulating the economy and keeping a very large number of bikers off welfare"

Its a well proven tactic.

Again you demonstrate how little you know on this subject, the VVMC has self admitted links with outlaw motorcycle gangs and only is allowed to operate with the permission of these outlaw MC gangs, so the police are doing what any reasonable person would expect them to do.

The cops would be NO MATCH for them.

This filthy maggot Newman deserves no less.

And neither do those who support these fascist 'laws'.

Take your right-wing totalitarianism and smack off!!

You need locking up for incitement of violence, I think it's now referred to as encouraging or assisting crime.

You're a lucky a/hole, lucky you're here and not in another country where they don't tolerate big gobbed slappers.

People vote in governments. If the majority didn't want them in power they wouldn't vote for them. Newman can be voted out at the next election if the majority are unsatisfied with his performance. I doubt he will though.

Nice propaganda, comrade. They used to say the same when Joh was in power.

Thank goodness for gerrymandering, eh?

There have been unconfirmed reports of a non specific spike in the sale of used cars ~ to heavily tattoed blokes and, the rumours indicate they all paid cash!  Speculation is rife that these are former members of OMGs who have now elected to conduct their various businesses peacefully, and less obviously, as Lawful Car Clubs.  It has been suggested that a new Car Club registered today as 'Sleber," may be one such Club.

Those noisy bloody Harleys were drawing far too much unwanted attention, it has been reported.

Now, that is what I call progress.

Good. That’ll show them.

I don’t know who’s worse - postmen, or 70 year old Vietnam vets.

Let’s just hope Mr Abbott follows Campbell Newman’s lead. I’d start with those Postmodern Trendoids.

Progressive.

The notorious Australian Post gang are known to frequent the suburbs delivering demands for money and threatening letters if it is not paid.

They are experts in blackmail and extortion and should not be approached.
